I wake up, sourrouded warmth. I open my eyes, I'm looking straight out a window a big luxurious window. The kind of window that you look at and wonder why it's so big. And this kind of phenonmon, things being overly grand, happens in one place especially in this palace.
. I'm in Kai's office. I shift around, Kai's hand rest down gently on my back.
"I see you're awake." Kai murmers into my ear.
I groan in response, pulling my hand from my side to my face trying to wake myself up. But I am still tired.
Torin clears his throat.
I keep myself from looking at him, I just rest my chin back down on Kai's shoulder, "I want to go back to sleep." I mutter.
Kai chuckles patting my back, "You can't sleep forever."
I rub my eyes, "I just might be able to."
"You said that you were focusing Your Majesty...this is not what I consider focusing."
"Come on, Torin. I've been working hard for the last few hours. Don't you think I have done enough."
"Once you work another couple out hours sure."
Kai grumbles, his entire diaphragm vibrating. Which is surprisingly really relaxing but like Kai said. I can't sleep forever.
I rest my hand on Kai's chest and push myself up so that I can get a better look at him, he looks really irritated. "How much more work do you have?" I say in a hushed tone.
He frowns lowering his voice so that only I can hear him, "It depends on how much Torin makes me do."
"Oh, " I glance back at Torin, who is reading over a paper in Kai's hand writing.
"And when I'm done I promise you a walk." He smiles, softly kissing my lips.
I frown breaking away from him, "Is that really a good promise to make right now, Kai? Torin could have you in here for the rest of your life."
Kai chuckles lightly, "Oh come on you can't think that badly of Torin, he'll let me out of here. It's not like I'm in prison."
I furrow an eyebrow at him, questioningly.
Kai shakes his head, moving his hand up my body to the back of my head pushing my back down to my previous resting spot. "This is not a prison, and I promis I will take you on a walk when I am done here."
"If you're comfortable with walking around the palace garden at 12:00am. I guess sure."
Kai chuckles again, moving his hand away from my back to pick something up of the desk. "Stars, Cinder. Just go to sleep. You're still grumpy."
Um.....no comment on that chapter
