How could he have been so dumb? Wylan was the best thing that ever happened to him, and he just threw it away. He banged his head against The Crow Club wall. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. He could feel Kaz staring at him discreetly through the wooden door separating the club from his office. Well, he was drunk, so technically it wasn't his fault. Right? Wylan was overreacting. Kaz wouldn't help. Inej wouldn't be back for months. Matthias was dead. The only one left was...

No. He would not be crawling to Nina for advice. She was currently psycho and needed advice herself. But was he in a worse spot than her? It was too much to bear. Fine. He would go and see if she had any useful tips on his and Wylan's relationship. It was unlikely. He waltzed down the streets of Ketterdam, a slight spring to his step. It wasn't because of his mood, of course. But instead, of his intensified struggle to keep still. He had to admit, it was an issue.

He stopped in his tracks. He didn't have to go see Nina. True, the alternative was way worse, but was it? Yes. Yes, it was. Jesper didn't care. He glanced at his surroundings, eyes darting from place to place. There. In the far corner, an inconspicuous symbol lay on a mossy rock wall. Jesper walked towards it and placed his three middle fingers on the symbol. He closed his eyes, count to ten, and squinted at the newfound light source.

When he fully adapted to the scintillating brightness, Jesper noticed that there was a pair of chocolate brown Suli eyes staring right through him. His heartbeat rapidly spiked, but only for a second until he realized who they belonged to.
