You were heavily breathing, attempting to replenish the loss of oxygen; at the same time, your legs felt like jello thanks to the lack of exercise you've had for the past few months. With the sweat beads falling down your face, you thought that enough was enough. Stopping your run, you noticed that you had paused right in front of your school.
You blinked a few times, amazed at the coincidence of how you ended up at Namimori High again. It had been happening the past two weeks as you exercised for the dance in your short shorts and hoodie, and it left you speechless every time you finished your run. Your house was just down the street, meaning that after all these hours, you had been just around the neighborhood. To preoccupy yourself from the maddening silence, you wore headphones that blasted a wide range of music genres in your ears.
It was nice to be in your own world once in a while, since these last two weeks you had been bombarded with questions. "How did you manage to get Hibari to be on your paper?" "Is there something going on between you two?" "Do you love him?" "Do you like abusive men?" "Are you a masochist?" All of them were stupid questions, and you didn't bother to answer any of them. Only a quick 'no' and 'leave me alone' was uttered as you ran towards the safety of your friends.
As you thought about the troubling questions, you stared at the school building, relishing at how vacant it looked at night. It was usually crowded with people even after school... Curiosity peaked your interest once again, causing you to climb over the brick wall. You had become an expert, seeing as how you needed to escape from the disciplinary committee on the days you had forgotten to wear the correct skirt or blazer. You weren't so intuitive in the morning nor violent. Usually, in the afternoons, you performed much better and dodged any attack Hibari made towards you which... would result in him tripping you.
When you finished climbing the wall and landed onto school grounds, you headed straight for the back entrance. They always kept that opened no matter what, a secret you learned from the janitor whenever you hid in his office from Hibari. Opening the door, you sneakily entered and began to wander the empty halls. You gazed at a lonely stairway, one that you never used before since it was for upperclassmen and was off limits after school. You smiled, running up on it with ease and signing it off as more exercise.
When you finally reached the top of it, you noticed another hallway and set of stairs. However, the stairs had a chain guarding it with a sign on it. "Restricted Area," you read out-loud. You lived by a motto: rules were just suggestive guidance; it was reckless way to live, but you didn't care... You had a life to live! With determination, you jumped over the chain and ran up the stairs silently, all the way to the top. It brought you to a door that led to the rooftop. Another sign adorned the door that read 'Keep Out'. It was slightly opened though, meaning someone was already out there. You peaked through the crack of it to see a black figure on the ground. Gasping, you assumed the person was either unconscious or dead and ran towards them.
"HEY! ARE YOU ALRIGHT?" you screamed, shaking the person. When you saw his face, you noticed that it was Hibari Kyoya. "HOLY SHIT. NO. I NEED A DATE TO THE DANCE. HIBARI, WAKE UP--"
WHACK
"Oh, you're alive," you sighed with relief , rubbing your head, "I was worried there for a second."
"You woke me up, herbivore," he growled, beyond pissed and already swinging at you, "Students shouldn't be on the rooftop at this hour."
