"I didn't want her here," your grandfather desperately defended himself. However, his words fell on deaf ears as you continued to stare at the woman whom had abandoned you when you needed her the most.

The woman showed no remorse for her actions in the past as she smiled brightly at you. "Look at you," her hands clapped together, "you grew up beautifully."

"T-Thanks," you hesitantly replied. You stepped backwards as your mom inched closer towards you.

Your grandpa shuffled over to position himself between the both of you, acting as a shield. "You saw her, now exit my house and never step foot in here again."

"Wait a minute. I think... I think I want to try out being a mother again, father-in-law," she announced, beaming her grin at you.

Your eyes couldn't get any more wider with the amount of surprises in just five minutes. Your heart pounded hard in your chest, feeling trapped in the hallway with all these people surrounding you. You couldn't handle this all right now. Just the sight of your mom had your mental state melting down. Those memories of abandonment-- the times of raw sorrow during your father's funeral and when your mom left without a single goodbye-- made you feel hollow.

"GET OUT OF THIS HOUSE," your grandfather yelled angrily, something you had never seen in your life. He always chastised you when you were younger, but he never raised his voice in that manner. "You think a child is disposable when it's too much work? You think a child is a toy that you abandon when you get bored?--"

"G-grandpa-" you tried to stop him as you worried for his blood pressure.

"You don't have ANY right to even look at my grandchild. Not now, not ever. You will never be a part of her life, not until she says you can."

"But I'm her mother--"

"You are not," you growled, stripping her of that title, "you left me. You're not my mom. You're not. You're not--"

"Of course I am. I won't leave until you know how sorry I am," she stated, showing full authority over you. Your grandfather was too old to physically throw her out, and you refused to touch your mother. She was too stubborn to budge and her appearance was poisonous to you clearly.

"Leave," Kyoya ordered, his tone menacing and intimidating, "or I'll bite you to death."

The air went silent. "A-A-Are you threatening me?" she scoffed.

Kyoya grabbed the tonfas from his pant loops and got into a fighting stance. He didn't have the usual sadistic smirk he wore when he had his tonfas. His expression was dead serious, and it seemed that he had no problems hurting the woman.

Your mother readied herself to begin a verbal fight with the demon, but his murderous glare made her think otherwise. "[Name], I honestly thought you wanted your mom back."

As she strutted past you, you made sure she heard your last words to her, "I don't need one like you."

After a few minutes of silence, your grandpa spoke up. "I'm sorry you had to see her. I couldn't stop her from entering-"

Your rushed over to embrace him the elderly man, burying your head on his chest. "Thank you," your voice was muffled but you continued to speak. "You made me realize something."

Your grandpa's feeble hands held your face to guide your eyes to his questioning stare. "What is that?"

"That I deserve better people in my life," you whispered.

"That you do."

"Which is something I want to talk to you about," you smiled as you stepped back and stood next to Kyoya, "I want to formally introduce my boyfriend."
