Kelly's POV:
The walk to my room felt longer than it probably was.
Derrick didn't say much as he led me through the mansion, his pace steady, his presence impossible to ignore but not suffocating either. I stayed a step behind him, my eyes moving constantly—taking everything in, memorising turns, doors, anything that might matter later. Not that I had a plan. Not yet. But I wasn't going to just accept this.
The house was even worse from the inside when you had time to notice it. It wasn't just big, it was calculated. Every detail felt intentional. Clean lines, expensive materials, quiet lighting that made everything feel controlled rather than welcoming. There were no personal touches, no signs of warmth. It didn't feel lived in.
It felt owned.
By the time we stopped in front of a door at the end of a long hallway, my chest felt tight again, that same quiet panic creeping back in as reality settled deeper.
"This is yours," Derrick said, opening the door and stepping aside.
I hesitated.
Not because I thought I had a choice, but because stepping inside felt like accepting something I wasn't ready to accept yet.
Still, I walked in.
And for a second... I didn't know what to think.
The room was beautiful.
Too beautiful.
Large windows, soft lighting, a bed that looked like it belonged in a five-star hotel, everything perfectly arranged like it had been prepared specifically for someone important. For someone who chose to be there.
Not someone who was brought here against their will.
My arms folded across my chest instinctively as I stepped further in, my eyes scanning every detail, trying to find something wrong with it. Something that matched how this felt.
"This isn't a room," I muttered under my breath. "It's a cage."
"Looks like a pretty big cage to me, love." I turned around to face Derrick again and he had a jokingly boyish smile on his face.
What an idiot.
"Bathroom's through there," he added, nodding toward a door to the side. "You'll be brought anything you need."
"I don't need anything," I replied, turning away from him again. "I need to leave."
He walked over to the bed, lifted his arms up and fell backwards onto the bed, "Ahhh. I'd sleep in a bed like this all day if I could." He breathed, trying not to laugh at himself.
I shook my head, is this how he is with everyone or..?
Derrick ended up leaving.
"Okay," I whispered to myself. "Think."
But thinking didn't help.
Not when I didn't have enough information.
Not when I didn't even know the name of the man who had taken me.
I didn't know how long I'd been in there before the door opened again.
This time, it wasn't Derrick alone.
Another man walked in first, looking far too relaxed for someone in this situation, his eyes immediately landing on me like he'd been expecting entertainment.
"Well, look at that," The man said, glancing around. "Better than my room."
"You don't have a room, Adam." Derrick muttered behind him. Adam? New character.
