✢ It's not everyday that Kakuzu will spend his money on someone, so he expects gratitude (and sometimes a favor) when gifting someone something

✢ He would only buy expensive things for an s/o that he really loved, someone he was committed to, and considered more important to him than money

✢ He would gauge your reaction, trying to find what kind of things you liked, it would be a waste to get something you didn't like, after all

✢ But he wouldn't straight out ask you what kind of things you liked, and when he did get you something, he probably wouldn't give it to you directly

✢ You'd come home and find it on your bed, no note but Kakuzu would be sure you knew who it was from

✢ Can't have someone stealing the credit, now can we?

✢ He might get you sweets, or flowers, if that's what you like, but he prefers to gift non-perishables; why buy something that will just wither away?
