The day I was leaving for my debate, Annandi comes and says, "All the best Dhruv. I am sure you will do well." I and Annandi both had a wonderful smile on our face. I smiled and replied, "My best debate would be the one, when I'll speak with you in my team." Annandi blushes and hugs me.

I leave for Indore. I am the second-speaker of the team. My parents were proud of me. I am the one and only person who will be going for Humanitarian field, as I am interested in literature and awfully bad at Mathematics and Science.

Meanwhile, Annandi was enjoying her life at the hostel, savouring every moment. She had no clue about how did I feel about her. She was indulged in her daily-life, enjoying with her friends.

I returned, after a beautiful five days trip. We won the 3rd Position, with me winning the best semi-final speaker award. My class mates were not talking to me as my team-mates were seniors. I stayed with my team-mates more than my class-mates. Back in my debate class, my sir praised me a lot. Annandi was watching all this, but did not pay heed to any of it.

I hid my feelings from Annandi. I was awarded a trophy in the school assembly. Every teacher and most of the students knew me now. I was selected for the upcoming debates due to my exemplary performance. I had to stay back for a month in the Summer-vacations, as I had three debates. I prepared for my final exams side-by-side, which were in March.

Annandi was also indulged in her exams. She is the class-topper, unlike me who is pathetic in Maths and Science. This was a major dissimilarity, which created a line of difference between us. We still did not talk. I just kept gaping at Annandi and days passed.

Our exams started. Everyone was busy preparing for the most difficult tests. I and Annandi were like two unknown people, who met, worked and walked apart. Both were not affected by the talk we had. My emotions were slowly decreasing as I departed my focus.

Our exams went smoothly. We did not even bother to ask about each other's result. We broke for our summer-vacations. I just kept hoping that Annandi would return to school. I had to stay back in Pune, as I had three debates, which would take almost a month.

My first debate was on 4thof April in Ranchi. My team mates were two best speakers' of the school. I was excited as well as nervous. My dream was to debate with them, but I had to give my best shot.

Annandi was clueless, about what is happening. She was enjoying with her parents and brother at home. Of course, she was too young to understand gestures given by a boy. She savoured her vacations to the fullest, not knowing, someone was indulged in debates.

I did well in two of the three debates. The reason for failure in Uttrakhand, was the cold weather. I caught a cold and could not speak up to the mark. Still, we managed to come third. I left for my home-town, Indore the following day.

Back at home, I was praised for my exemplary performance. Though, I was not satisfied with my last debate's performance, I tried to get over it. At that very moment, god favoured me. God made Anushka enter into my life.

Anushka is a very sweet, childish, lenient and witty girl. She is also good in Dance and Art. Anushka has a very complicated life. She is very lenient, and thus all students try to rip her case. Every time she talks to a boy, rumours spread about her dating that boy. Anushka is deeply affected by even small things that happen around her, and her class-mates don't leave a chance to make a mockery out of her. In this condition she needed someone to share her problems with. Certain circumstances prevailed, which were always against her. And in these conditions, a friend was needed. I had the ability to solve others' problems (I don't know how). I, developed a trust in Anushka, that I wouldn't harm her. I made it sure no one said vague thing about her.

Soon we started chatting. Coincidently, I turned out to be her bother. I did not tell this to her the whole vacation. Still, I managed to create a bond which was unbreakable. Anushka was a bit disturbed. She was a topper the previous year, but now she lost her position. (She is still in top 5)

She is very easily attached to people, and then she is cheated.

Anushka is strong as well as emotional. She though in her teens does not have much friends, especially boys, because if she would talk to any boy, her class-mates would tease her by the name of that boy, which is common in a school where there are only 10-12 girls.

It was class 9th in which this incident occurred.

Anushka used to talk to a boy named Viraj. He was new to the school. Tall, thin, fair, with a mole on the upper-let side of the nose. They never loved each other. They were just best-friends. But our legendary school-mates took it in a very different sense. They spread rumours about Viraj and Anu dating each other.'

Anushka was pissed at this and vowed not to talk to any boy of the school (which she broke...). She enclosed herself to a circle of only few friends – all girls. Her major problem was that she trusted easily. In this case she needed to take a break from her life.

Slowly I and Anushka created a unique bond of trust and friendship. Anushka was never scared of sharing anything with me. She trusted me a lot.

I also made sure that I never broke Anushka's trust, because if that would happen, I would be left all alone again.

I told about Annandi to Viraj, Anushka, and Umar in class X. Umar asked me to confront her. I denied. I said, 'We don't even talk to each other. How can I go and propose her?' Umar then told me, "Dhruv it's a now or never situation for you. You don't confront her she'll never be yours..."

I understood. It truly was a do-or-die situation for me. There were 5 people who liked Annandi, but only 'cause of her body.' I had an upper-hand, because I loved her heart. So, on the 26th of October 2018, I proposed Annandi. I wrote a poem and a short message on a card and put it in an envelope. After dinner, I asked Annandi to stay back for a few moments. She agreed. Annandi did get a speck that I was planning something, but she waited. Umar was watching from a distance. He was excited, after all he was the one who provoked me to propose her.                           -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
