Annandi first looked into my eyes and then looked down. I could get a glimpse of what could have happened. I told her, "Go, it's not your fault. I am sorry for holding you back." Annandi was confused. She couldn't understand 'why did I leave her.' if I got to know what happened.

Confused, she looked down and walked away, as if thinking about something. Annandi joined her group, talked about something and then moved towards their hostel. I too, turned around and moved towards my hostel. Back in my room, I wondered 'why did Shubhangi, her best friend manipulate her?'

I was angry. I had to find a way to talk to Annandi. Amidst the lonely road, I had only one option- be friends with Shubhangi. I and Shubhangi have never stayed at peace against each other. We had an argument in August, when we were at a trip. In these conditions, it was next to impossible to enable a trust in her. I had to clear a point, 'I love Annandi from the core of my heart.'

We had the inter-house basketball competition. Annandi was playing the match. She really is a wonderful player. She played two-quarters. She played really well, but still lost.

In between of the match, a kid Vansh, sitting beside me passed a vulgar comment on Annandi. I was agitated by this. I made sure that Annandi knows about it and strict action should be taken and the irony was that Vansh was my friend, and was two years younger to Annandi, (i.e three younger to me.) I got so infuriated, but still couldn't do anything at that point of time. Some of my friends too noticed it and tried to provoke me to take some action, but I replied, "Abhi nahi baad mein."(Not now afterwards.)

Umar taunted me, that I would never be able to take stand for someone, whether it is my love, friends, family, or anyone in the world. I decided to prove him wrong. The very next day I took Vansh and made him sit in the centre of the mess, kneeling down. Everyone noticed him. The school's head- boy, teachers, students and most humiliating - Principal sir. He kept on whining and pleading for an apology. I was standing over there. Soon Annandi, along with Shubhangi entered the dining hall. They saw Vansh kneeled down with I standing beside him.

Shubhangi approached me. She asked me what had happened. Annandi also came over there. I narrated the whole story to them. Shubhangi was on fire. Annandi broke down. My eyes were red. A rage broke into me, to take revenge from him. I decided to take serious steps, for this wasn't a small crime.

The matter went to principal sir. Sir decided to call and inform Vansh's parents. He was in tears and pleaded not to expel him from the school. It was a terrible crime, especially with the growing "#Me Too Movement". Annandi could have literally penalized him under the 'Women Protection Act'.

I tried to consolidate Annandi. I tried to divert her attention to other things around her. Every day after that I asked Anushka, 'Was she fine in the hostel?' 'Did she cry?' Anushka understood that I truly loved Annandi. I just wanted to see her happy, and I could literally do anything to keep her jovial.

Soon things became normal. Just the distance between Annandi and me decreased, but it was very minor. I started staying with Anushka, Priya and Rohit, more than often. We soon formed a bond which was talked about in the whole school. Anushka became the school head-girl. Our friend circle was the buzz of the school. Each time anyone of us were found alone teachers' would ask, "Where is the rest of your group?" I t felt nice to be a part of such a group. Anushka was happier than ever before. She had found her true friend-circle. She trusted everyone in this circle. I was more than happy seeing this. We all are in our mid-teens and are a model to behold for trust, love and friendship.
