Part 4

With that Neha whisked the baby in Eddy's arms with Eddy away. On the way to her tent she was silent, pondering something. It was risky; Eddy was only one day in this world, she doubted he would say yes, but she would see...

Eddy followed Neha quickly, he stayed dead silent this time. He was nervous and quite scared really, this was awful. He would have to talk to them about these traditions since it did them no good.

They got to Neha's tent and went inside. She sat Eddy down and took the baby from his arms. Stripping the baby from it's layers, Neha laid the softly crying baby on the floor and held one hand on her belly.

"Follow my lead Eddy. And see. See what she will become, what she will accomplish. Demand your god it will show you her life. We need to know if she is worth the rescue or not. I know you think that's harsh, but Eddy, we need to know, I need to know. Please."

She turned her gaze to him, eyes hard, her mouth set in a small line.

Eddy wanted to believe that everyone was worth it no matter if accomplishment was small or big, "You're right I do."

He closed his eyes though to try to invision his god, unless this kid was going to be a serial killer or a bringer of genocide he thought she was worthy to save. Apparently his thoughts didn't matter much. He would ask her future if it oh so pleased the elderly which.

And yes, that was exactly why she asked. They would not save the life of a murderer, under no circumstances.

As soon as Eddy closed his mind, the now familiar landscape came together right before his eyes.

The lake was still dark, as was the burnt tree, but the god didn't wait long to appear. The fox came from the sky like before, shaking itself before turning to Eddy while sitting down.

~You want something, youngling.

In which way can We help you?~

"Well I probably should apologise first for being so brash yesterday with you, so sorry," Eddy rubbed the back of his head awkwardly, that didn't mean he wasn't still mad at the creature though, just willing to admit he was wrong that time, "And besides that I want to see the young princess's future. Her paths she may take, and so on. Neha wants to know if Mina is worthy to save...."

He sighed, this did seem cruel. How could they be doing this to a baby?

~No need for the useless notion of apologizing.

We understand this is very tiring and new for you,

We will give time to accommodate.

But why would you need to know the path of the princess?

Neha is no witch of Us, you are.

Her concerns and demand as well as wishes and hopes are not of Our concern.

If that other witch wants to know, she shall ask her god, not Us.~

The fox was slamming the tails on the lake, causing ripples of the water. The bright flowers on the tree were glowing brightly; it was clear that the god was not happy.

Eddy cleared his throat, being quite nervous about the display, he was on edge, waiting to see if he'd die or not, "Can you then answer me this; Is Mina worthy to save? I think she is..."
