Hello my lovely readers,

this is the last Chapter. More on the A/N at the bottom!

Part 50

Spring rolled around. The first flowers began sprouting and the grass was already green and lush.

Contrary to the beliefs of the old folk, the winter wasn't as harsh. Since Brett had calculated well, Eddy built the greenhouse and Shiro made all the food they needed. It was a winter where nobody had to go hungry even for one day. Also the tribe where Brett stole the women came through with their promise and handed over the meat and the furs Brett's and Eddy's tribe needed. Of course the women were returned and peace settled into their tribe one more time.

Eddy was busy writing down all the stories and legends as well as the history of the tribe in the wintertime. Brett didn't interfere with that, mostly he sat by Eddy's side and told him of the stories he heard from when he was a little boy. Mina, Neha and even the Kathun and Khangan came to visit regularly. But also a lot of the people of the tribe came and Eddy gave them tiny little tasks to appease their nature to serve. It was quite adorable in Brett's eyes. But now the winter was over, the snow melted and the flowers cautiously blooming.

The wedding would be held tomorrow and the seamstress actually got Eddy the white dress he initially wished for. It was decorated with yellow and red strands and complicated patterns. It was elaborate and definitely not one of many dresses he owned. And Eddy owned a lot of them now.

Brett and Eddy laid side by side in the big bed, arm in arm. They had their morning round behind them and were just relaxing. Brett played a bit with Eddy's longer hair and pressed a gentle kiss on the tips of the hair.

"Hm, do you want to grow it more or shall we cut it and let the whole tribe weep?"

"I think I will let it stay this long for the ceremony so we can put flowers in it. I will chop it sometime during the summer though to stay cooler. Then let it grow again during the winter. I think that sounds good," Eddy cuddled against Brett's chest, feeling relaxed when he was with him. It was also good news that they all survived the winter. Turns out the green house was a good idea to make sure that there was a good balance of nutrition. Then Shiro provided animals so that was good. They ended up here which was a good result if you asked him.

"I will cry if you chop it off, I swear. You look beautiful with longer hair." Brett would regret it of course. Eddy really looked better with longer hair but if he didn't want to have long hair, then what was he supposed to do? Nothing, Brett had just to accept it.

"Hair aside, the ceremony is tomorrow. Do you feel ready?"

The wedding ceremony so many worked very hard on, was finally there and Brett couldn't believe it. It was a wonder he didn't die from a heart attack before since Shiro loved to 'surprise' him. Brett got better at spotting the god but if Shiro didn't want to, he was invisible which made it really hard.

But now they were alone in the bed, anything else would be very awkward.

"I feel excited and happy, even a little warm and fuzzy inside. But also a bit sad, not because of the ceremony though. I always imagined my sister and mum would be there when I got married, so it's kind of saddening for me. I am happy and very lucky though to have you as my husband," Eddy spoke softly and warmly despite being a bit sad. He was happy to have Brett though.

Brett kissed Eddy's cheek. He couldn't do anything against the missing family but he had done his best to bring his family and Eddy closer together. Mehalia, his mother, called Eddy her second son already, even though never to his face since she didn't want to offend the man. His sister was overly excited that the 'witch-mama' would be her older brother now. Mina was a strange but cute kid. His father was silent but supportive. He even traded one of his swords for the needed white furs so Brett knew he loved Eddy as a son as well. Sadly, it wasn't enough to let his witch forget the pain of being separated from his own family. Brett didn't think it would but it was worth a try, right?
