Sabre's point of view
I woke up again. Did I fall asleep so soon after waking up? I must have. I felt a lot better than I did before. I didn't feel hot or sick, I just felt... okay. I looked at my hand to see that it was still black, I couldn't move it. I really need to get this fixed. If it can be fixed that is.I slowly sat up from the bed looking around to see Ivy sleeping next to me. I smiled a little. I always smile when I see her. It just feels right. I closed my eyes for a second and realized how close we are to finishing this journey and after that Ivy, Lucas, and Ryan can help me figure out a way out of this world-.... I might be able to leave soon....
So why doesn't it feel right?
I opened my eyes again to see that nothing has changed around me. I get up carefully in hope I don't wake up Ivy. She needs to sleep. I get out of the tent and look outside. The campfire from earlier has burned out recently. It was close to midnight and the stars were out. A new moon.
I've never seen the stars like this. So bright and beautiful. It's amazing. It's better then the city night sky I'm so used to seeing.
I felt a jolt of electricity run through my body and I flinched. It's been a while since I've glitched like this it's kind of a relief. It's a bit of a reminder that I'm stuck here and I might be able to leave.
So much has changed since I've gotten here hasn't it? The glitching that used to me a problem is now nothing but a reminder. The world I've gotten so used to feels like home now even though I don't belong here. It's strange. I changed so much.... Well at least of how I think of this situation.
I just hope that I can go home soon... well I'm not even sure where that is now. Here? Or back in my world.
"Sabre? What are you doing?" I looked behind me to see Ivy. She was rubbing the sleep out of her eyes.
"I just woke up, and couldn't fall back asleep." I tell her. She walks up next to me.
"Do you feel better?"
"Yeah. A lot better actually. The only thing I need to deal with now is this hand." I tell her showing her my hand. She nods a little upsetting that we haven't fixed it yet.
"Maybe the witch can help?" She suggested.
"Yeah your right.... We can ask her in the morning." I agreed. She look up into the night sky.
"The stars are bright tonight." She says taking my hand. I look back up with her.
"Yes... yes they are. I've haven't seen them like this before. It's beautiful." I added. She keeps looking up at the sky as we stay quiet. I felt my heart pound in my chest. I felt nervous.... But only a little bit.
I looked back at Ivy. She didn't notice that I was looking at her. She was focused on the stars. Her eyes had stars in them too. I blushed.
"What happened when I fell asleep?" I asked her.
"Oh um. Your friends they talked to the with for a bit and they are going to look for an animal so we can easily get to the town instead of having to travel for so long." She says and looks at me.
"Okay, That's good...." Ivy looked back up at the sky. I smiled. This is nice.
"So... what will you do after this? If you can't go back?" Ivy asked me a bit nervously. She sat down and I sat next to her.
"I don't know.... I always think I'll get back... I never though of what would happen if I couldn't."
"You can stay here with me." She suggested, I looked at her.
"We can go back to the house or we can move into the village with Timmy and his parents. We could help more people here without having to possibly die multiple times." Ivy chuckled and I laughed too.
"Yeah maybe, if the is glitching goes away I wouldn't mind staying with you." She smiles and hugs me.
"You mean it?"
"Of course I do." I hugged her. I got her to sit on my lap and we both looked up into the sky once more. It felt nice to have her on me. She felt so warm. She was real even if this world isn't suppose to be.
"Elan?" I looked down at her.
"Yeah? What's up?" I wait for a response.
"I was wondering.... Do you like me?"
"What do you mean? Your my friend of course I like you."
"No the other like... you know...." She mumbled. I thought about it for a few minutes. Everything we have been through so far. How happy I was to be close to her. How much it hurt when she wasn't... when she died...
"Why do you ask?" I asked her before answering my question.
"I think... I might like you.... Like that.... I like being near you and you make me happy... you make me feel really happy and it bothers me when you glitch... I don't want you in pain... but since this isn't your world... I thought that maybe-" I cut her off understanding what she was thinking.
"Just because this isn't my world doesn't mean it's any less real." She sighed and looked down. I pulled her closer to me and she flinched.
"Ivy... I... I love you too... you know..." I mumbled. She didn't say anything. I sighed and looked at her.
"I love you too.... Elan.... Elan isn't a nickname thought is it? That's your real name right?"
"Yeah... yeah it is. Sabre is always been more of a nickname."
"But both of them are you right?"
"Yeah. I'm sure it is. It's still me no matter if it's Elan or Sabre." I said honestly.
"Well then... I guess I'm in love with two people Huh?"
"In a way yeah. You can see it like that, but I only love you my Sunflower." I said. She smiles.
"I love you two. Both sides of you." She curled up into a ball and fell asleep. I just smiled and took her back into the tent.
"Sleep well Sunflower."
