chapter one,

"i can't believe you guys dragged me into this, really." giannina garcía said laughing as she got out of the truck with help from jamal, she had her sunglasses on the top of her head and her slightly tanned skin gave her the touch of beauty that characterized her, tyler, her best friend, got down behind her while laughing at her comment and leaned on her shoulder to boost the fall from the truck.

"you were dying to come here, princess." jamal said, giving him a flirtatious look. "admit it!" he added.

"are you so sure about that, prince?" giannina laughed at him when tyler answered for her, making everyone in the group laugh.

"we should find that girl, what was her name?" olivia asked with her brow furrowed.

"alice booth." isabella answered, grabbing giannina by the waist and leading her inside the camp. it was exactly how she imagined it, she was not a camping girl, she was born in montevideo, uruguay, and she had never known the country, at the age of 13 she moved to los angeles with her parents and since then she has been there.

" i never went to summer camp." giannina whispered to isabella with a scowl on her face.

"me neither." isabella added "and it's exactly how i imagined it." added, wich gia couldn't agree more.

isabella, unlike gia, was born in palestine, from american parents she grew up in south los angeles, but with parents so protective of her, they never let her out more than necessary, she was barely 19 years old when she came out as a lesbian and moved from the house of her parents, who did not accept that their little princess did not want a prince, if not another princess.

"hello counselors!" said an animated lady of about 30 or 40 years old, the five friends looked at her practically with their mouths open, as she approached them with a template in her right hand.

"hello, alice, right?" giannina asked, stepping out of Isabella's now tight grip, and reaching over to give her a hand shake.

"that's how it is." she replied, looking her up and down. "you must be ... giannina garcía?" asked the lady, raising her right eyebrow.

gia had dealt with xenophobia from a very young age, although living in los angeles no one cared where you came from, she still met people who hated her just because she was latin american, which she could not understand.

"i'm going for gia, but yeah, that's me." she responded uncomfortably, felt olivia's arm around her, giving her strength she knew she needed.

a few minutes of presentations passed and everyone realized one thing in particular; alice booth was a deranged nun, she wanted to impose rules on them about sex, alcohol and drugs, which they obviously did not intend to respect, much less having bought a quantity of marijuana to drug an entire camp for the whole summer.

alice gave them a tour of the entire camp for about a full hour, introducing them to mrs. mine, the cook, paula, a beautiful nursing apprentice girl, sebastian, a burly physical trainer who left overnight.

"are we the only counselors?" jamal asked, raising an eyebrow.

"well, not really." alice replied when she started leading them to the bedrooms. "there are some guys here, montana, ray, chet, and xavier." she told them their names, and gia couldn't help but think that they were the whitest names she'd ever heard in one sentence together.

"i'm going to guess and say they are rich white kids that their parents put them in here for finding them using cocaine." jamal whispered in isabellas ear, who couldn't help but giggle.

"you couldn't be more right, dear." he laughed, making the whole atmosphere rise much higher.

"girls bathe in the morning and boys at night, no exceptions." alice recited and olivia couldn't help but roll her eyes, causing a laugh to flow from tyler's lips. "as my mother used to say, girls are pink, boys are blue, don't even think about making purple." she recited with a smile on his face looking up at the sky.

"what century are we in, again?" tyler said, pulling a smile from everyone's mouth except alice, who had ignored him.

gia couldn't help but think that she had lost her mother and felt very sorry for that, although the few minutes they had spoken, she had been a shameless bitch with her, empathy was one of the things that most characterized gia, who hated to see people suffer with all her soul.

"and these, who are they?" asked a voice behind them.

they all turned around at practically the same time when they met a strange... girl.

"the name is montana." she said looking at them with a smile of grace in her eyes. "i'll run the tour from now on." he said, turning around and starting to walk.

"dips." jamal said watching her walk.

"shit." bella whispered sighing, drawing a chuckle from olivia.

they all followed montana as she walked and showed them the places, and when they came to an unlit campfire.

"did you tell me your names?" she asked, sitting by the campfire.

"not yet." jamal replied, sitting across from her.

"so..." she started to speak. "what are your names?" montana asked, with a cynical smile.

jamal took the lead and started speaking; "this beauty you see here is olivia." he pointed at her and she gave him a smile montana rarely reciprocated. "gorgeous isabella, my brother, tyler ..." he kept answering as he pointed at them. "this princess you see here is giannina." he said putting his arm around her shoulders.

"gia." she quickly corrected and montana nodded.

"gia, sorry." it was corrected. "and i am your host, jamal."

montana surveyed them all with a raised eyebrow and stood up from her seat.

"i guess you guys know how to go back to the cabins." she sighed. "see you here at eight o'clock, let's all make a fire together." and with that she began to move away from their sight, giving olivia a flirtatious wink, who did not hesitate to blush almost instantly.

"i think it's a good time to start getting the marijuana out, tyler." isabella said with a funny face.

"what is desired is richer, or whatever." he said with a shrug.

"i think i'm going to take a shower, you guys." giannina got up. "shall I text you when i'm done?" she asked them and they all nodded.

"even if the connection here is shit, yes, princess." tyler replied, looking at her.

"perfect." she said, leaving. "see you guys later."

"see you." they responded and continued chatting animatedly.
