BE-Switch AU

The demon Kings are arc- and or an honary knight while someone's the Paladin. Satan is the Pope and the rest (3 eldest?) are the Grigory.

Yuri had been the demon queen but due to some unfortunate things died. Rin and Yukio are still Nephilim with Yukio having more demon blood than Rin and being raised by the demon general Shiro who strangely owns an Assiah cat he named Kuro.

Gehenna is chaotic due to the loss of their queen and has thus become a true 'jungle' where only the strong survive. Getting involved in the power struggle of his colleagues, Shiro has no choice but to sent his two adopted sons to Assiah where Kuro watches over them with the help of a power he got from Shiro.

-> For safety measures Shiro made a pact with Kuro granting the cat telepathic and spiritual (wind) abilities since Shiro was a spirit kin General of the Highest class.

In Assiah, being an Exorcist is a very prestigious job and the Pope and his 8 sons are the 'ray of hope' and prime example for any aspiring trainee.

However, since Rin is the weaker of the two, Yuri had prepared a special object that is to help her youngest's disadvantage: a sealed sword made out of Gehenna's most precious and STRONGEST materials.. as well as a fraction of her, the demon Goddesses, power.

In this AU Shura is a fire-rot kin who's a hidden supervisor of the twins and met them on the Exwires camping trip. She can appear looking like a Naga woman or a Hydra. Yukio wants revenge from the humans as he thinks it's their fault for what has become of their home and them being separated from their father ('uncle' figure). Rin on the other hand just doesn't want trouble and hates how other people (and close demons) look over his shoulders.

Though they all do it for different reasons. The demons like the Nephilims (Nephilim are generally liked by demons for their interesting quirks and personalities while Exorcist's scorn them as beings of 'foul blood' as Assiah bloodlines were sacred in their eyes). The humans were suspicious of the Okumura Twins. For one, Yukio had greater physical strength than most and one could feel the vibes around him screaming ANTISOCIAL and STAY AWAY! Kinda like a wild animals but more off-putting. Rin just behaved weird to them, his logic sometimes didn't make sense and he asked strange questions (Difference in culture).

Of course during a trial after the Impure King fiasco-Yukio got them through most of the dangerous stuff even though neither of the twins had any distinct ability other than having different abilities from all 8 kin. Shura had approached them during the Tokyo trip to discourage their involvement in the noble rot kins appearance fearing they'd get ill but sadly both got stubborn with her so in the end she stuck around till it got to dangerous where she wanted to drag them out of harms way.

So far the Twins only met 5 of THE Messiah's of humanity.
The Highest Grigory: Lucifer as well as the Grigory member with horrible fashionsense: Mephisto followed by the Youngest among the Grigory: Azazel, whom they all met during their first Trial case. Then there was Paladin Iblis who had a gift for irking Yukio and headmaster Amaimon who just took an impromptu liking to Rin which Yukio also didn't like.

Supposedly they had also stumbled apon the arc knight Astaroth when they first came to Assiah but that meeting was blurry as it was a dark night and they had landed in an industrial district (-> lotsa smoke & noise).

The blade had come into play only once so far. When Rin had managed to get himself swallowed by the Impure King. The sheat had opened up by itself and blue flames had ebbed out to protect their masters youngest son and bearer. That had hurt the rot kin so much that Karura used the chance to get rid of it with the help of the Exorcists.

Yukio almost went ballistic that time for fear of losing his younger brother but luckily Rin was found unharmed after the king was gone. He was put in a surveillance pot in the medical wing for a month before being discharged for a miraculous recovery.

Lastly was when a major part amongst the Order wanted to put an end to Gehenna and gathered blood for a gate they'd use for a nuke. Neither royalty wanted to let that happen but they were restrained by one of the messiah's each. Astaroth held Yukio while Egyn took care of Rin (both are Arc knights mind you).

Not only was the nuke revealed to have been sabotaged but it didn't reach the gate where dozens of demons swarmed out from. Taking the lead; the pope, Satan, fought against the onslaught of Gehenna Denisenz together with his sons the Messias. Making them forget about the Okumura Twins.

The demons noticed the Nephilim but thought they were held captive - which isn't that off the mark - and went to rescue the two. It was chaotic.

While kin among kin went to kill the pope each of the 'Baal' drew their weapons and massacred all who stood in their path.. It reminded Rin on one of his favorite manga's: Attack on Titan... Sadly he didn't have the time to make comparisons. As if that wasn't bad enough both Shiro and Shura were there with the former fighting as one of Gehenna's generals against humanity's pope.

Let it be said they didn't get along.. not personally or otherwise, as usual. Though they also kinda liked it seeing how they wore crazy smiles as they spilled each others blood.

Anyway both sides stopped when blue flames appeared. Satan was in disbelief over his past Lovers appearance while Shiro was so happy he almost didn't see Lucifer trying to kill him with his sword.
