So they would start fresh, begin a relationship with a whole new set of rules. He had accepted the fact that she would be in control, something a little out of the ordinary for him, but it was nothing he couldn't handle. The evening hadn't been what he thought it would be when he first saw her sitting there on his lawn. He remembered the first time he had seen her there waiting for him. Her admission of the love she had for him had made him the happiest he had ever been. He had just assumed they would stay as they had been, together, as close as two people could be that was in love, but she had thrown him a curve ball.

After a little explaining how things would be, for instance, he would need to ask her out, maybe for dinner. Then he would have to be willing to talk, talk about his feelings, maybe even open up more about his wishes and desires. They would spend as much time together as possible, getting to know each other again. There would be no secrets from each other, and if they did something the other one didn't agree with then they would have an in-depth discussions about it until the other one could understand. She smiled, giving him the look of confidence, " See Can, it's simple, all we have to do is listen to each other and love each other." She told him, as she gazed into his eyes, feeling that giddiness that always accompanied his stare.

He couldn't seem to take his eyes off of her as she laid out the rules in detail, her eyes were glistening, her lips moved so magically that is was hard to concentrate on what she was saying. He nodded in agreement, totally captured by her spell, " Yes, I get it." he answered, " What ever you say I'm willing to do. I think one mistake in my life is enough, so I don't want to screw this up." His smile melted her, it always did and always would, but the trick was not to let him see it. The thought of losing her again was something that he wasn't fond of, as he remembered that night on the coast, seeing her walk away arm and arm with another man. That vision burned into his brain, in fact it almost caused him to something stupid. But now he had been given a second chance, they both had been tested and lost. This kind of love only came once into someone's life, Sanem was his fate, she was the one person that had freed him from himself...

He had begged her to stay and let him make dinner for them but she declined, " No thank you, maybe another night when you have things a bit more prepared." She replied, turning to walk away. Can jumped around  in front of her, " Wait, wait a minute, so you're going just like that. When will  you be back." His words sounded so desperate it made her smile. He took her hand and brought it to the lips, kissing it softly, " Please stay for a while, I really don't want the evening to end. You know the last time you waited for me here like this I made us dinner and you stayed almost the entire night." He spoke, leaning in close and kissing her cheek. Her smell encircled him, making him weak, how would he manage to survive this, he wondered.

Sanem had already thought about that night, it seemed so long ago but yet so vividly real in her memories. " Yes I do recall something like that, but didn't you give me wine and make me lose my better judgement." She ask him, looking into his eyes. Just as quickly she looked away as she felt herself being drugged by the charm of this man. As bad as she wanted to stay, she just as badly wanted to go, just to prove the point that they both would have to work a little harder for this relationship. She remembered the promises he made her that night also, the promise that he would always listen to her, always be there for her, and those promises were thrown aside the moment that she needed him to do just that.

" Can I really need to go." She spoke softly, letting her fingers run through his beard. That feeling was something that he hadn't felt in a while, and he missed it terribly. That simple gesture had always brought him to his knees. He closed his eyes, " Ok, but I will pick you up tomorrow from work and we can come back here for dinner. I'll fix everything myself. Will you, please." He pulled her in close to his body and she could feel the heat radiate through to hers. This would be harder than she thought, as she felt her stomach fill with those butterflies. She hadn't experienced that since he had been gone. He slide his hands down her arms, leaving a trail of goosebumps, "Sanem I have missed you more than I can say, just the touch of your skin makes me come alive."  He found that spot on her neck, breathing in that special aroma, letting it soothe that part of him that had longed for her for so long.

She too, had let that feel of him being so close, rush over her, calming all the fears she had inside her. This man was all she needed, all she wanted and all that made things right within her. How would she be able to stay strong and insist on them rebuilding their trust and love at the same time...She moved away ever so slightly, " Can you're not playing fair, we need to give us some time."  She spoke with a whisper. He pulled back, looking at her with desire, " I didn't know this was a game, is it....is it a game we are playing. If it is then no, I'm not playing fair. But this is not a game for me. You have been the only thing in my life that meant anything, so I'm not playing around." His eyes took on a look of seriousness. Immediately she wanted to take back those words, but it was to late.

She found his eyes and held that look as she caressed his face, " I'm sorry Can, I didn't mean it like that. It most definitely is not a game, and I won't pretend it is. This is our lives, my life, the life I want to spend with you, but...this time I want us to be dedicated to it. To be able to accept each other as we are, with flaws. Neither of us are flawless, but that should make us love each other more. I don't want a perfect life, I want a life that means something, a love that can withstand anything and anyone. I want trust and openness, that's all we need." She let her lips touch his, just barely at first, then she let her emotions come through and that fire that fueled their love took over. The taste of his lips was strong and she realized how much  she had missed him, as she felt him return the kiss and beg for more...

Her head was reeling...

Yes, this would be a lot  harder than she thought.....
