CHAPTER TWO // ROSES

You arrived to practice a little while later and the first thing so saw when you entered the change room didn't shock you if you had to be honest. Connie and Guy were in the middle of the change room, arguing over who knows what. Most of the team was just watching this go down and other just tried to ignore it.

"What's happening?" you whispered to Luis.

"I'm not sure, but they were yelling when I got here."

After a few seconds, Connie stormed away leaving Guy standing there with a bitter look on his face.

"C'mon, let's go to the rink now" Julie said mainly to you and you nodded.

Once everyone was on the ice, Coach Bombay started talking about the game coming up this weekend. You were always pretty excited for the games coming up. They were great opportunities to show everyone your skills since a while ago you didn't even know how to hold a hockey stick properly.

"Hey Y/N" Guy said as he skated over to you. Right now, everyone was passing a puck with a partner. You were passing with Charlie.

"Hey" you smiled.

"I was wondering if maybe you could give me some tips on skating."

You found that weird because he was one of the best players on the team and his skating skills were almost as good as yours.

"What do you need help with? You already know everything there is to know" you said as you passed the puck to Charlie.

"Uh, I don't really know... hey, maybe just stay after practice with me" he said.

"Yeah, sure I guess" you responded with little interest.

After practice you stayed back and waited for Guy to come over to you. You watched as he tried to say goodbye to Connie, but she just brushed him off and walked away. He skated over to you and you waited for him to tell you what he wants.

"Wanna race?" he asked with hope in his eyes.

"That's what you made me stay back for? A race?!"

"Three, two, one, go!" he yelled and you both skated as fast you could to the other side of the rink. Sadly, he got there before you and he suddenly stopped which caused you to crash into him and fall on top of him.

"Good race" he said with a smirk.

"That was stupid. Why did you really want me to meet you" you said as you started to get off of him. Guy grabbed your arm and pulled you back on top of him and smiled.

"Maybe I just wanted to hang out" you felt his warm, minty breath on your lips, and you watched as he chewed a piece of gum slowly. You pulled your face away from his a bit and chuckled nervously.

"I'll see you tomorrow I guess" he said and you quickly stood up and waved at him before skating away and grabbing your stuff. You walked home which only took you a few minutes and you sped to your room and dialed Julie's number.

"Hello?"

"Julie, It's Y/N."

And you told her about everything that happened with Guy.

"I bet he likes you" she said.

"Did you just forget that him and Connie are still together."

"Oh please. That whole relationship ended months ago. They're both just too lazy to end it. I'm pretty sure that Connie has moved on too" Julie explained.

"A couple months ago, everyone was convinced that they were going to be together forever. And now, well not so much" you said to her.

"Y/N, I bet that if you started liking Guy, Connie wouldn't be bothered by it. I'm not 100% sure, but after examining it for a while, she might have a thing for Luis."

"Luis?! She needs to tell us this stuff!"

"I know, but maybe she will soon. I have a feeling that they won't be together much longer."

You guys talked for a little while longer until you got called for dinner. You went downstairs and waited for your mom to put the food on the table and then you heard a knock on your door.

"Please get that Y/N" your mom said.

You walked to the door and opened it to reveal Fulton standing there with flowers in his hand.

"Fulton? What are you-?"

"These are from Guy. Here you go" he rolled his eyes and handed the bouquet to you. You studied them with your eyes and looked at Fulton with a strange expression.

"Shouldn't these be for Connie?" you asked.

"Y/N, I have no clue what he wants but he specifically told me to give them to you" he said sounding serious.

"Well, thanks I guess."

"See you tomorrow" he waved, and you waved back before closing the door and heading to the dining room. You tried to find a possible note hidden with the roses, but there was nothing. You were confused as to why Guy would give you flowers. Maybe he was over Connie and maybe he did like you.
