May
Hey Peter

Peter
Hey May

May
I just finished my shift at the hospital so we can get some pizza if you want

Peter
That would be nice

May
Good
Make sure your room is clean
And you've done all your homework
Or no pizza for you

Peter
I know
See you soon

PETER'S POV:

I literally haven't spoken or even texted May in weeks, and suddenly she texts me about getting pizza? Something's going on. But if we're going to go get dinner, I can't just wear my ripped jeans and a graphic t-shirt, meaning I had to do the laundry. Crap. I didn't have any money, let alone a bunch of quarters for the machine. I searched all over my apartment for spare change, only finding a couple dimes in the couch, and a nickel on the floor of my room. I sighed, and carefully snuck into May's room, and opened the top of her dresser, where she kept all her hats, and pulled a $20 bill out. It was the last one, I'd slowly been taking it, just so I could do the necessary stuff. Like getting dinner for myself, or like right now, doing the laundry.

I ran down the stairs to our downstairs neighbors, crossing my fingers, hoping they had some quarters I could borrow. Most people had a bunch of quarters, after all, we live in New York, you need to pay the meter. If you ever actually drove anywhere. And thankfully, Elizabeth opened the door. "Peter!" She said happily. "What a surprise? Do you need something?"

"Yes." I say quickly and pull out the bill. "Do you think you might be able to exchange some quarters for this?" I ask. "I need to do my laundry, but I think we're all out of quarters."

"Peter, it's for your laundry. I'll just give them to you. That's not something you need to exchange it for." She said, pulling out her wallet.

"No, really, it's fine." I said. "You don't need to pay for it."

"Peter, it's only two dollars. Besides, I don't even need quarters for the machine." She says, and I'm reminded that she, just like Ned and MJ do, have their own washing machine. Lucky.

"Elizabeth, really, it's-"

"Peter, I insist." She said and basically thrusted the coins into my hand.

"Okay..." I said. "Thank you so so so much."

"It's not a problem Peter, what are neighbors for?" She said and I dashed back up the stairs as soon as the door closed. Thank god I don't need to use the money from May. She might not notice if there's still a little bit of money there, but if there's nothing, she'll definitely know.

And as soon as I put my laundry, my phone dinged from the group chat.
