I yawn out as I walked down the hallways, absolutely bored out of my mind. Levi was busy training the cadets and I was just slacking off as usual. I walked outside, heading towards the barns to see (h/n) since I was in the mood for a ride.
"Hey boy." I chuckle, rubbing (h/n)'s muzzle as he huffs at me, bumping my head softly. "I missed you too." I grin petting him furiously as he neighs happily. "Let's go for a ride. What do you say?" (H/n) backs away from my hands suddenly and I furrow my brows at the sudden change of mood.
That's strange.
He would've jumped out of his stall by now.
"Hey what's wrong?" (H/n) shakes his head and moves back, looking down at a pile of hay that was shifted to the corner of his stall. "The fuck?" The small pile moved and I hear a little squeak coming from beneath it. "What have you been hiding?" (H/n) looks away from me and I kneel down to move the hay.
Holy shit.
"You poor baby!" I coo softly as the head of a tiny black kitten looks up at me sadly, meowing. "How did you get here?" I whisper, leaning my hand down to let it sniff me before I pet it. The kitten licked my fingers and meowed and I moved my hand to gently pet it. It whines softly and leaned up into my hand and I carefully picked it up. (H/n) huffs at me and I look at him. "I'm not going to hurt the sweet pea. Calm your hooves." I walked out of the barn with (h/n) following me as I cradled the kitten and pet it.
So cute!
"Stay here. You know you can't come inside." (H/n) whines as I enter HQ, walking straight for the kitchen. "What can I feed you?" The kitten gently nibbles on my finger as I enter the kitchen, getting some bowls and different foods. We didn't have much in variety but I was gonna make little portions of everything to see what the kitten liked.
The different bowls had milk, water, tuna, mashed potatoes and peas and small pieces of spam. "Dang, you must really be hungry." As soon as I set the kitten down, it ran straight for the food and ate everything. I let it eat, wondering what I should do with it.
I don't think Levi would be happy about an animal prancing around HQ.
But I can't leave it outside. It's just a baby!
Maybe I can get someone else to look after it?
I don't trust the boys, they barely know how to look after themselves.
But I think the girls would be too busy with training.
I sigh out and look down to see the cat sitting while staring up at me with its big steel eyes. "Don't look at me like that." I frown, leaning closer to pet it. It starts purring and it crawls into my lap. It headbutts my stomach, wanting to be wrapped up in my warmth and I coo softly at how cute it was. "I guess I can look after you. But I have to hide you in my room away from Levi." I mumble quietly, holding the kitten while putting the dishes in the sink. I walked off towards my room, letting the kitten crawl all over me until it sat perched on my shoulder.
