Sebastian ran from someone who was chasing him through fire, for some reason, he felt utterly helpless, and then he heard the screams of his lord in the distance and he rushed to his aid, however, when he arrived at the location, Ciel was already dead and Sebastian began to weep as he gripped his lord's motionless body and held it tight within his arms - he refused to let him go, he had... failed in his duties, it was true, but he was never going to let him go as he cried for what seemed an eternity. And then he was awakened.

"Sebastian, you're crying in your sleep, why?" Ciel inquired with genuine concern.

"M-My lord." Sebastian said in surprise. "I-I was doing nothing of the sort..."

"Sebastian, you don't have to lie to me, I know you were. There are tear spots on the pillow, now, why were you crying?" Ciel inquired with sincerity.

"It was nothing more than a nightmare, master, I'm glad you're okay." Sebastian answered into the crook of his master's neck while embracing him tightly.

"I see... And I am glad you're all right as well." Ciel replied returning Sebastian's embrace.

The two continued to cuddle before Mey-rin rudely interrupted with her voice.

"Aww, this is cute and all, but what am I suppossed to do, Sebastian?" Mey-rin inquired.

"Huh? Oh, just go scrub the floor or something, I have important business to attend to." Sebastian said while pushing her out the door and closing it. "Now, where were we?"

Ciel gave a devilish smile and kissed the butler as he leaned near his face with his seductive, silky, red eyes and placed his hand where his heart would have been, and, odd enough, he felt a beat from within that chest. Sebastian, you do have a heart, for me... Oh no, what if he dies because of me? I could't live with that burden, no, I would take my life in place of his. Sebastian,... why did you permit yourself to feel for me?

"Because I love you, young master. You are the first one I have ever, truly loved." Sebastian answered as though he had been reading the young master's mind.

"You never cease to amaze me, Sebastian." Ciel replied calmly with a smile.

"Well, I am simply one hell of a butler." Sebastian answered with a silky voice.

You're also one hell of a deer, and a bunny, and who knows what else. Ciel thought deviously while smiling at his butler who seemed to know exactly what he was thinking, but he then remembered that Ciel had work to do today and immediately ceased playtime.

"My lord, your work awaits you." He said with a warm smile while gesturing towards the desk.

"B-But..." Ciel resisted and Sebastian put a finger to his lips.

"Shh, you must fulfill your duties, young master." He said softly.

"S-Sebastian... N-No, I'm not going to, the queen can wait! I want to spend my time with you!"

The butler smirked slightly, it amuzed him that Ciel would just ditch his work for... a lowly demon like himself, however, he could not resist, it was his young master's desire. It was amazing how far he had come, he was once just a lowly demon, now, he was his lord's lover, and it seemed as though his life was full of purpose once more. He would give his all for the master to smile, to see him grow, however,... that meant that he must be willing to risk his life in order to save him, and he had already numerous times - he was very loyal to his lord, he no longer wanted his soul, no, in fact, he wanted his heart, not literally, but mentally and emotionally.

"As you wish, young master." Sebastian replied with a smile.

He had no doubts in his mind: Ciel was his only reason for living, without him, he had been nothing but a demon in hell, literally, and what was the fun in that? It was an endless abyss of torment until that day -  when he made the contract with Ciel, it seemed as though he had planned this all along, that is why he answered the young master's call: love, an emotion a demon is not suppossed to feel. Sebastian sat beside his young master upon the bed and was soon embraced by him, he let on a surprised look and laughed merrily - yes, this was indeed love. What did I do to deserve such an amazing boy though? I-I am just a lowly demon...

"Sebastian, is everything okay?" Ciel inquired out of concern.

"Um, yes, everything is fine." He answered with a smirk.

"You're in pain, I can tell. Please, I want to help." Ciel replied with determination in his voice.

Sebastian allowed a tear to fall from his deep, red eyes onto his gloves that covered his clenched hands. I am only a demon... I am only a demon... I am only a demon... I am only - a demon... What could I possibly do besides hurt this boy? I-I serve no purpose after all, my lord, I am so sorry. Sebastian stood up from his spot on the bed as more tears  began to fall from his crimson eyes, he was in a deep pain, the kind that self-doubt and hatred brings a weary soul. He bowed, marital style at his lord before him and tears spilled out of his eyes as he gazed up at his master.

"Master, I-I an only a demon." Sebastian whispered faintly. "I could never please you, please, kill me because this contract will only end in failure."

"S-Sebastian, I could never kill you, please, stop this foolishness at once. You are so much more than that, you mean more than the world to me, you are - my everything, and it pains me to hear you talk about things such as this because, well, I want to spend my life with you. Sebastian, this contract will not end in failure because you are strong, you always have been, and you always will be, even when you're weak - I'll still love you."

Sebastian embraced his lord tightly as tears fell from both of their eyes.

"Thank you, my lord, I shall do my best to live up to your expectations." Sebastian whispered near his ear.

"Remember: you are meaningful to me, Sebastian, and you always will be." Ciel responded tenderly.
