The Lotus
We were driving down to Yokohama, I sat in the back texting Sato who managed to avoid any trouble from both Kashiwagi and Juno, though he plans to slap me for not giving him a heads up about the bottle smash.
Date: "Lau Ka Long, eh? Never figured on the triad getting involved."
Kiryu: "Yeah..."
(L/n): "If anything they probably just grabbed the pendant and are just wondering what to do with her, they don't have any reason to hurt her."
Kiryu: "Haruka was looking for a mother she never met, she came into town to find her, all alone. A nine-year-old girl did all that... 'Where is my mom?' was the one thing driving her."
Date: "Yeah... Haruka wanted to protect me by distancing herself... When I heard..."
Kiryu: "I remember something from ten years ago, that feeling of standing by my actions out of the sheer desire to protect what I valued most, but now that I think about it, maybe I was just running away because I couldn't just watch as fate dealt its hand to him... Because I lacked the courage to see it all the way through. I thought I'd won by changing his fate by force... But in the back of my mind, I knew... I should have fought back against fate. A man desperate to protect what he values most should be able to overcome anything. Mizuki's dead, and Haruka, as little as she is, is bearing the bad news as best as she can. If she's going to fight her fate... Then I can put my life on the line for her."
I close my eyes as he talked, making sure to listen to nothing else as it filled me with motivation to do this. I was nervous, first time going into enemy territory but if it's for Haruka then I'm willing to go in. We eventually made it to Yokohama Chinatown, standing in front of a grand restaurant
Kiryu: "So this is the Snake Flower Triad?"
Date: "That's right."
(L/n): "Fancy place."
Kiryu: "Date-san, can you keep looking into the open case regarding Haruka?"
Date: "You don't want me coming in there with you?"
Kiryu: "I hate to say it, but you'll just get in the way, (L/n)-kun can at least take care of himself until I can get to him if he needs it."
Date: "Blunt as a hammer... I get it."
Kiryu: "Sorry."
(L/n): "Take care of your head, Date, we need you safe."
We walk into the building after a quick goodbye. The restaurant was packed and the smell of duck was in the air, I would never believe this was a triad base. A waiter came up to us and bowed.
Waiter: "Welcome, table for two?"
Kiryu: "Tell Lau Ka Long that Kazuma Kiryu is here to see him."
Waiter: "I'm afraid I don't know anyone by that name..."
I looked over at the counter nearby noticing the host hang up a call and reach for something. I quickly pull out my gun as Kiryu pulled the waiter against him as the host unloaded the entire magazine at him. I took a few shots but he ducked, reloading but as soon as he popped up Kiryu threw the body of our kind waiter at him, dropping him as he kept firing his gun at the ceiling until the large chandelier above was shot off and started falling, forcing most of the guest to run for their lives as it crashed down and more workers came out with weapons. Kiryu cracked his knuckles as I reload my gun.
(L/n): "Down not out."
Kiryu: "And keep moving forward."
I nod as we run in to begin our rampage.
