Ezra's POV
Walking down the dark alley with bruises on my face and blood coming from my lip I feel nothing. It has been a month and I have escaped from everyone. I used to feel shitty about leaving Thea, but that pain led me to killing each and every person that is associated with Tiffin.
I have gone to the hell's of earth to find any trace on how to find that cynical man, and nothing shows up.
Xavier was with me last week, but I did it again. I pushed him away. I said some fucked up things about Anastasia and the whole Valerio family.
They used to be my family.
One thing led to another, and he got fed up with me, and I haven't seen him for a week. The thing about me saying all of those shitty things is that I barely remember saying any of it. I had one objective in that argument and that was for him to get away. I was destroying myself by the second and even if I had nothing left in me I had to get Xavier out before I destroyed him too.
Thea has called and left messages, but a week ago she stopped. She must have got the hint that if Xavier was back without me it was hopeless for her to get me back.
I think to myself whether or not Thea could ever forgive me because truthfully I wouldn't forgive myself.
That pain of my mother's voice changed me again. It has made me trust less, overthink more, and shut everybody out.
I let the darkness take over again, and that darkness is going to fuck Tiffin up. I have killed at least thirty of his men and I have no remorse for any.
I am interrupted from my self pity and realize that I am about to enter the bar that Tiffin has last been spotted at.
I walk into the bar and put my hood up. I make my way to the corner and signal over a waitress so that I can get a drink. She comes over and is visibly scared from my busted up appearance. My hood covers a lot of the blood but she still sees my face with a lot of bruises. "Strongest whiskey." I say to her in a hard voice.
"Sir, do you need help with anything." She asked me. I looked up at her and took my hood off. "Just get me the whiskey darling." I said to her, and her eyes bulged out of her head.
She tried to hide the fear, but it wasn't working. She knew who I was, and she knew that I had no business being here. "Yes, sir, sorry." She says to me and turns her back.
The word has got around that I am going on a killing spree with Tiffin's men. They also heard about my father's fatal passing. It was said that he accidently left the gas on and then lit a cigar.
Rot in hell father.
The waitress walks over to the bar and gets the phone. Looking over at me seeing if I am watching. I give her a smile signaling that she made a wonderful mistake.
This is exactly what I wanted. She's going to call in her bosses, and her bosses are connected to Tiffin. Whoever is brought out will be added to my list of killings.
She walks over to me with my whiskey acting innocent. I smile at her approaching, "Here you go sir, do you need anything else." She says to me with her voice trembling. I look at her up and down and realize that she is shaking.
I see a familiar man walk out and I know that he got the signal that I was here. I can't have him see me just yet. I grab the waitress's wrist and pull her down on my lap. I look down on her name tag, "hello Gretta, I can tell that you are familiar with my name, and you decided to give your friends a little heads up is that right?" she shook her head yes while on the verge of tears.
