Hours had passed. Blood stained her skin and her clothes. Lacey shook with the force of the tears she was holding back. How much longer could she stay here before she lost her mind? She gripped the edges of the chair with her hands, trying to regain the feel of her fingers. A loud crash sounded from upstairs. Lacey jumped. Was Lucifer bringing in another victim? Would she be less alone down in the basement? The basement door swung open, and Lacey cringed in fear. He was back.

Something was different- he was rushing down the stairs, running at her. She still didn't open her eyes.

"Sweet Jesu," a voice murmured. It was riddled with agony, frustration, and despair, all rolled into one. Lacey smiled blissfully. So she was having another daydream.

"These dreams are my favorite. I love seeing you," Lacey sighed. She opened her eyes, once again taking in every plane of Asher's face. Something was different about him this time.

"Dreams?" Asher choked out. He shook his head as if to clear it. Then he moved behind her, slicing off her bindings.

"What are you doing!? This never happened before!" She hissed. Never once in her wildest daydreams had he untied her. It was then that he moved to stand in front of her, and she could feel the warmth emanating from his body.

"You're real. Oh my god. You're real! Asher!" she screeched. She wrapped her arms around him, tears flowing freely. Asher made a choking sound in te back of his throat, like he couldn't believe it either.

"I remember now! I remember everything!" She said. A loud boom sounded upstairs, and he tensed.

"We need to get out of here." He led her swiftly out the back door, up a short flight of stairs. The daylight burned her eyes.

"Ga-aaaaah!" She screamed, shielding her eyes with her arm. Since when had the sun been that bright? Asher moved and gripped her arm, taking her into his trademark black ford explorer. He drove away so fast the tires screeched on the pavement.

"Do you need anything? Water? Food?" Asher asked. Lacey shook her head.

"He fed me fairly well for a prisoner. I just want sleep, I guess." She mused. She curled up against the seat, her eyes closing.

"You'd be surprised at how hard it is to sleep when you're kidnapped. But now I can sleep because I'm safe." She blurted. Asher moved to stroke her hair, slowly sliding it out of her face.

"That's exactly right. You'll always be safe with me."

Lacey woke up to hands on her shoulders. She let out a scream. Would Lucifer beat her again? She fought and kicked, her vision slowly unclearing.
