ASHER- SUNNY DAYS MOTEL
He left the note on her bed, tears wracking his body. He remained for too long at the doorway, simply watching over her sleeping form. She was so peaceful, so flawless, so perfect, it physically hurt him to leave her. He knew that this whole plan was flawed, but he had based it off of what he knew about her- which was everything. He met Isaiah in the hallway, where he was lurking with his casual slouched stance.
“You know what to do?” Asher questioned, his voice trembling under the weight of the tears. He didn’t care that Isaiah saw him cry.
“Yeah, I got it. Are you sure this is it for us? We can still see each other after this. I could find a way,” Isaiah declared, even though the both of them knew that it was impossible. Asher nodded, and Isaiah moved in to give him a “bro-hug”, as he called it.
“I wish this hadn’t happened. You’re my best friend,” Isaiah promised, his voice cracking noticeably.
“Thank you for everything, Isaiah. You were the best friend a guy could have,” Asher exclaimed. Isaiah wiped away a tear from his eye, trying to be quick about it.
“I saw that,” Asher teased, even though his heart wasn’t in it.
“Jerk,” Isaiah retorted. Asher turned to go, feeling his heart shatter into pieces.
“Goodbye, Isaiah.”
“Bye Ash.” Isaiah called. He remained there, watching his best friend walk away. Tears shook his entire body, and he didn’t let himself break until Asher had entered the stairwell, officially out of sight and officially out of Isaiah’s life.
