Anna cleared her throat and I realized that Felix and I had probably been standing there in each others arms for longer then what we should have, I unwillingly stepped out of our hug and whipped the tears from my cheeks.

"Why didn't you tell me we live in the same building as Felix?"

"I wanted to surprise you" Anna laughed playfully and slid past Felix into his apartment, she was up to something.

"Do you have anything to drink? We need to celebrate"

"Um, yeah there should be a bottle of vodka in the kitchen somewhere" He walked in after her and held the door open for me but before I stepped in Anna intervened.

"Ally was about to go get the rest of her luggage, you should go help her bring it up and I'll make us some drinks for when you two get back?"

What the hell was Anna thinking? I didn't want to be alone with my ex that I still had feelings for.

"Sure, lets go" Felix obviously didn't share my concern. I glared at Anna from the hallway but she just smiled back and handed Felix her car keys. He shut the door behind him and we walked toward the elevator in silence, it was getting awkward.

"So, hows Marzia?" Why did I ask that?! the last thing I wanted to hear was how perfectly in love he was with her.

"She's great, I'm going back to Italy to visit her after Christmas" He looked so happy when he talked about her, it made my heart feel like it was dying. I just nodded instead of trying to speak, the elevator arrived and we stepped inside, I pressed the ground floor button and it began its slow decent.

"I think you'll really like her"

Maybe I could have been her friend, if only I didn't have this immature and irrational hate for her.

"She seemed really nice when we talked over Skype"

We made some more small talk as we got the last of my luggage and took it to mine and Anna's apartment, we put the boxes in the corner of my almost empty bedroom with the other two that Anna and I had brought up earlier.

"You don't have any furniture yet?"

"Not yet, Anna and I are going shopping tomorrow before she goes to work"

"Do you need any help setting your bed up?"

Part of me wanted to say yes, still having a slight hope for us.

"No I should be fine"

We made it back to his apartment without too much more awkwardness and like Ally had promised she had our drinks ready for us, handing us each a glass.

"Cheers, to Ally's return!"

We all clinked glasses and I took a big sip of mine, wanting the alcohol make me forget about my broken heart.
