Chapter 9

Its been a week since i got out the hospital and I can finally play baseball. I turned to check what time it was and it was 7. I got up and put on some jeans that were a bit baggy but not by much. I slipped on my favorite black Beatles shirt with my black chucks. I went to brush my teeth and wash my face. I put some deodorant and perfume. I put my hair in a low ponytail and slipped my dogers hat on. When I got downstairs I saw my mom and dad eating breakfast. 'Hey ma hey pa' 'hey mija' they said in uniso. My mom had made tacos de barbacoa.(its a type of meat ig u could say). I sat down and ate about 2 before I heard a knock on the door. 'I'll get it' I went and saw it was Benny. 'Hey benny' I quickly gave him a kiss on the cheek. 'Hey amor ready to go' 'yeah lemme get my bat and glove'. You quickly run upstairs to get your things and run back downstairs.

When you guys finally made it to the sandlot you noticed someone. It was a girl you never saw before. 'Hey guys this is Emily she's new to town and moved in next to smalls  house' 'hey' she said as she stared deeply into Benny's soul. It looked like she was burning holes into him like damn girl. I rolled my eyes then looked at Benny looking very uncomfortable. 'Anyways emily this is y/n and Benny' smalls said. 'You play ball?' Benny asked 'No baseball is for boys only' she said with a chuckle thinking it was funny. It clearly wasn't because no one laughed. 'Um sorry to burst your bubble but baseball it not for boys only in fact I play ball. Do I look like a boy to you?' You asked cocking an eyebrow. 'No' she said quietly. 'Lay it off y/n let's just play' Benny told you. 'Ok' 'Emily you can sit in the dugout and watch' 'ok thanks ben' she said with a big smile. This bitch better stay in her lane. You thought as you walked up to home plate with benny.

Benny batted for a few games and then let you. When you went up to bat you saw Emily slightly roll her eyes. You ignored and payed attention to the ball. You hit it on the first throw and hit it all the way to the fence. You were on 3rd base about to get to home when you got in a pickle between yeah yeah and Bertram. 'PICKLE!' Ham yelled as you ran back and forth. You finally were able to escape and ran to home. 'Alright babe' Benny said running up to you. Thats when everyone fell silent.

'What did you say' ham asked in shock 'um i- it slipped out sorry' Benny said awkwardly. 'You guys were dating and didn't tell us!?' Ham yelled while everyone else agreed. 'We were gonna tell you guys I swear but we didn't know how you guys would take it' you said while looking at your shoes. 'Well now we know but why are you just now telling us and how long have you even been dating' 'because we know you guys and didn't know how yall would take and and we dated since before my accident. 'Yall have been dating for 3 weeks?!' 'Um yeah' Benny said. Jeez this was not how I planned it you thought. 'Well you guys know now let's go home its getting late' you said trying to change the subject. 'Ok' everyone said and soon yall started to slowly walking home and parting ways.

Soon it was only you,benny,smalls,and Emily. 'Thanks for not saying anything this whole time smalls even though they found out unplanned' you said breaking the silence. 'Your welcome guys sorry they had to find out like this' 'its ok I guess they had to find out eventually'. Then Emily started walking next to Benny getting a little to close to your liking. 'Thank you Benny for letting me stay you helped me make friends' she said slightly blushing at him. I could tell he was very awkward and uncomfortable but didn't show it. 'Um your welcome glad I could help' he said. When he said that it came out as more of a question. Then right after Benny came next to me and held my hand tight. I saw Emily glance at our hands and rolled her eyes. She has a stanky attitude I thought.

Soon her and smalls left and Benny and I arrived at my porch. 'That girl had a stanky attitude today don't you think' 'yeah but maybe she's still getting comfortable' 'I guess but I hope that its soon' Benny laughed then gave you a quick kiss and started walking home.
