"Mind telling us what's making you so happy today?" father smiles, looking at me.
We're at breakfast, and my mind just keeps going back to the conversation I had with him last night... I should stop.
One more thing, I haven't exactly told my parents about the tattoo yet. Which must look weird to them because I'm grinning for no apparent reason.
"Uhh, mother, father...", I interrupt their banter about whether or not the chicken is cooked properly.
It is.
They both look at me expectantly. Thinking about the best way to tell them, I just show them the tattoo.
It's quiet for about two seconds before they both get worked up.
"Oh my god it happened!!", mother squeals and stands up, coming to hug me. Father does the same.
"Okay okay", I laugh, "I still have nineteen to go", I sigh.
"Still. Did you talk with him? Is it a her?", father asks eagerly.
"Yes, and it's a him", I say.
"Dammit, I've always wanted a daughter-in-law", mother whines, making us chuckle.
"Well I, for once, want a son-in-law. Can scare him real good", father exclaims and I facepalm.
"You keep yourself away from her business", mother warns him.
"Yes ma'am", he mumbles, looking down.
"What's on your agenda today, Kat?", mother asks, sipping her soup.
"I have swimming, karate, fen-", I pause.
Oh no, Nelson.
"Fencing?", father inquires.
"No fencing today, just swimming and karate. I'm free the rest of the day. I was hoping you could take me into the office", I state.
He chokes on his chicken, "Y-You want to go to the office?"
I shrug, "I am the heir of the kingdom. One day I will be queen."
"B-But you've never given any interest in politics"
"Yes because all the ministers in there are absolute bull and if it weren't for you, this place would've gone downhill", I rant.
"Language!" Mother cries.
"She's only talking pure facts honey", father looks at her.
"Have I told you how much I love you?" I look at my father.
He leans back, "Once or twice when you were about 5", he shrugs.
"Well, I love you", I stick my tongue out at him.
