Ranboo woke up before sunrise and quickly got in an outfit that was reasonable for the cold temperatures outside, but also light and easy to move around in.

Ranboo finished brushing his teeth and he quietly exited his room and exited the palace through the courtyard. Ranboo made sure to be quiet as some new recruits were already sleeping in the tents that littered the yard.

Ranboo walked into the weaponry tent and grabbed a bow, some throwing knives, and a short sword.

Ranboo carried what he had outside and set them down outside the courtyard fence.

He made a second trip back to the tent and grabbed a first aid kit and a weighted suit that is about five pounds heavier than the average armored suit.

He carried the second load outside and let the gate close with a click.

Ranboo sat down in the dewey grass and closed his eyes.

All he had to do now was wait for Tubbo and Tommy to get here.

He leaned his back against the fence and felt the fibers of Tubbo's scarf in-between his fingers.

The young prince inhaled the crisp morning air and enjoyed the blissful silence, not even the birds had begun their cheerful song yet.

It was just him, and a handful of crickets scattered throughout the field.

Ranboo was almost asleep when he heard the disruptive rustling of the undergrowth an a sleepy voice mutter "It's too early for this."

"Shut up, Tommy, you should feel lucky he's even considering to let us join."

Ranboo cracked one of his eyes open and his gaze landed on the two brothers as they emerged from the forest.

He yawned and opened his other eye "Good morning." He said as he got up "Who's up first?"

Tubbo looked over at Tommy and Tommy furrowed his eyes brows.

Finally Tubbo spoke "I can be first."

Ranboo nodded "Very well. Tommy, go wait inside the courtyard. There is a tent that has cups of water and fresh picked fruit. Don't eat it all, it's for the new recruits. But if you're hungry, you may snack on something in there."

Tommy nodded and walked into the courtyard.

Ranboo had never heard the boy so quiet.

Perhaps he was just tired.

Ranboo grabbed the weighted armor and walked over to Tubbo "Hold out your arms." He instructed.

Tubbo looked confused and did as he was told.

Ranboo slipped the weighted vest over Tubbo's head and said "Good, now stay here."

Ranboo walked back to the fence and picked up some arm cuffs and he clipped those around Tubbo's mid arm.

The shorter boy frowned up at Ranboo "What are you doing?"

Ranboo finished clipping the second one and said "Strength test. In combat you'll have to wear a suit of armor, it most likely won't be this heavy, but this is the standard weight of training vests."

Tubbo nodded slowly "Will I have to do the assessment while wearing this?"

"Part of it."

Tubbo looked at the vest in distaste but he didn't say anything else.

Ranboo grabbed some weighted boots and placed them in front of Tubbo "Size seven and a half." Ranboo stated "I figured that was about your foot size, if not, you're out of luck. We don't have any smaller sizes."
