A small brunette urged his horse to slow to a halt with a jerk of the reigns.

He looked around at all of the chaos, all the destruction.

It was hard to believe Clay had done all of this.

The newcomer just hoped he had gotten here in time.

He dismounted from his horse and called

"Clay, you asked for me, here I am!!"

Suddenly, all of the fighting died and all the attention was on him.

A smooth voice spoke from behind him,

"George?"

George whirled around and faced his dear friend.

Clay looked pretty much the same, minus the mask.

George blinked and tried to remind himself of all the terrible things he had done.

"Clay... What have you done..?"

George waited for Clay's response and he took flinched as Clay let out a hearty laugh "What haven't I done? And, it's Dream now."

George stepped forward hesitantly and breathed out a sigh of relief as he wasn't immediately killed.

He looked up at Dream who stood mere inches from him.

Dream removed his mask and stared longingly at George "Look, I did it, everything I said I would..." He said so softly, George could almost imagine himself falling into Dream's voice and forgetting about everything, but he stiffened and shook his head,

"Cl-Dream... You can't bring her back." He said flatly "All of this- it's for nothing.."
Dream caressed George's face "No, George, I can't bring her back, but, look-look what I've done instead. I am a god, George, when Drista was killed- I thought the world had cursed me, but no. I was enlightened,  I was shown what could be possible."

George flinched at the mention of Drista's name and Dream continued "Look around, George, what do you see?"

George took a glance around and he turned back towards Dream who's charming smile gleamed too brightly "I see death, and destruction. I see a heartless creature who let a little power go to his head, and I see someone who used to be my best friend."

Dream flinched "You don't mean that, George, I thought you of all people would understand!"

George backed away as tears sprung to his eyes "Understand what? That you lied and killed your way to the top of the food chain all for what- a little power? Sure, in the beginning you had good intentions, but you said it yourself,  you consider yourself a god."

Dream frowned "George, just.... Just open your eyes for one moment, please, listen... We could live forever, George, forever! A-and imagine- imagine what we could do, all the good we can make happen. It's like what we dreamt of when we were little kids, remember that? Late nights outside staring at the stars, remember how we talked about the future, and all the incredible things we would do?"

George's heart ached with what he knew he was about to do, "Of course I remember, Dream, but... That was Clay, you're not Clay..."

Dream stepped forward "Why of course I am, Gogy,"

George gritted his teeth and another year rolled out of his eye, "I'm still Clay, I've just.... Evolved."

George swallowed causing his adam's bobbed slightly, "Where's Sapnap?"

Dream smiled "He's here, you really don't think I would hurt either of you, do you?"

Real hurt flashed in Dream's gaze and George hesitated "You've mind controlled him."
