Ranboo stood on the edge of his balcony when he felt warm arms embrace him from behind, he leaned back into his mother's hug.
"Hi, Mom." He smiled.
She kissed the top of his head "What's bothering you, love?"
"Nothing's bothering me, mom." He turned around so he was facing her and her soft green eyes shone with worry for him.
"Are you sure? You've seemed distant. Do I need to kill someone?"
He chuckled softly "I'm just thinking."
She frowned "What happened to my little boy who told me everything?"
He shook his head "I'm not hiding anything... I just... It's not important."
"My dear, anything involving you means more than anything." She said adjusting his tie.
"You know I'm not here to spoil your fun, right, like, I know about your two little friends you sneak out with."
Ranboo froze "How?"
She chuckled "Mother's know all, especially this one."
Ranboo crinkled his nose as he laughed "Haha, mom, don't give yourself too much credit there."
She propped her elbows against the balcony railing and rested her head in her hands as she looked ahead. Ranboo followed suit.
A brief silence was interrupted by the Queen,
"So, who's the lucky person?"
Ranboo thought paled "Wha-No!" He stammered "I-How do you always know what is bothering me!"
She laughed "Lucky guess. And I suppose it helps that I was also a kid once."
Ranboo shook his head "All adults were children once, it doesn't stop them from being ignorant to every child's individual needs and thoughts."
She shrugged "Well, maybe they just forgot what it's like, how hard it is, anyways, stop avoiding the question, who is it?"
Ranboo's shoulders sagged slightly as he gave up, "Her name is Jaida, or Jay for short." He ran a hand through his hair and his mom glanced over at him, something like amusement flashed in her gaze.
"What!" Ranboo cried defensively "You ask me to open up to you and now you internally make fun of me!?"
She laughed "No no, love, I assure you I'm not making fun of you, it's just... My baby's all grown up."
He rolled his eyes "I grew up a while ago, mom."
She out a hand on his shoulder "To me, you're still just a little kid. I think you always will be one to me."
A smile flickered on his face "Well what's the amused look for them?"
She blushed slightly and looked away.
Ranboo lifted one eye brow "OoooOooh. Whatcha hiding, mom?"
She shook her head "I'm not hiding anything. It's just, the name Jay brings back memories."
Now it was Ranboo's turn to interrogate her,
"Well, now you've got to tell!"
"Okay, okay, fine. When I was your age, a little bit older, I got my first crush."
