Today, I left home.
Like a wrecked ship sailing the untamed seas without knowing where to go, I left home.
This was a verdict long held back by the fear of leaving this familiar shore. Ironically, it is now fueled by the fear of staying rooted in the grains of sand that no longer feels like home. When the pain of staying is greater than the pain of leaving, we must leave with no regrets.
I am unsure when it all began.
The curtains started waving their goodbye to the warmth of the golden rays of the sun. The vibrant walls started losing their colors along with the abandoned pictures hanging on them— they just kept fading away day by day. I even tried tracing back every sharp edge left, it repeatedly scarred me yet its traces led nowhere.
Today, I left home.
Homeless but free; alone but happy.
Today, I left home.
But with nowhere to go, you'll never get lost again.
I just have to build another home. One that is made just for me. A home where loving myself won't be too hard to do.
