I was alarmed from the noise that came right beside me and it made the beautiful insect fly away from me. It must have been scared to. I turned to my left and just then I saw the princess pushing back a book I was familiar with. She turned and walked back to her mother without another word. I walked back to the bookshelf and pulled out the book, it had a red string to indicate where I had stopped. Was this his way of apologising and saying such rude things to me? I turned up just in time to see the princess node at me, I sent  a grateful smile her way and went to sitting down.

Most of the ladies had decided to stay in the queens salon while some had gone to their rooms to get ready for the ball that was not until hours and hours later at night. I did not bother with any of them and neither of them bothered me, which was something I was grateful for. The queen had long departed and so did the princess. The sun was shining outside, even with the storm that brought a bit of snow in the morning, the weather still looked and felt beautiful. The smell of the green grass and the growing flowers filled the room, the air was clean and fresh and free of any pollutions. Well almost.

"Look at her she thinks she is perfect." Penelope had said, I found it strange how many of the girls moved with black bad-mouthed people such as she and Amelia. "Yes, reading a book, more over a book that is not about proper manners. How did it feel being given that book by the princess? And I am sure it serves as a lesson to you am I right Penelope?" The rest of the girls giggled.

I looked up from my book "Oh, sorry were you talking to me, I could not hear you over all the jealousy I heard." Then I ignored her and looked back at my book. "Stop with the bloody pretence Naomi, it is getting on my nerve." I rolled my eyes at Penelope. "Nerves Penelope, nerves we have about seven trillion of them in our body, and If I remember correctly Penelope, I am above you by at least,"  I raised my fingers and started counting. "Three titles, so if I were you, I would read the book the princess gave to me. You should definitely know whom and who not to respect."

"She is only here because she is highest in ranking among the nobles daughters, if she was not then she would not have had a chance." Amelia spat. I smiled "That means I am highly favoured." Amelia looked at me. "See dearest Amelia, I have connections, money, a title and they are all under my name, most of all I have a brain not a baboons behind. So, if the prince wants to choose a queen for himself, I would be considered as his first choice before he would think about you or her." She looked enraged. "Now Amelia and Penelope it is only business, so shut up I am trying to focus and your polluting my air!" Both girls stood up at the same time and walked out with all the remaining ladies. Once the door was closed, I shouted 'freedom' and dived into my book full of wonder and mystery.

About five minutes later the door opened, I did not bother looking up, as it must have been one of the other ladies. "I see you still have not learnt your manners. I would have to get another version of John Friings book then." I nearly jumped from my skin; my own two feet were tangled in my dress. How as that even possible? "Did you get the message?" She asked and I looked down at my book, just then a paper fell out. Where did that come from? There was not any point of hiding the paper. It was just the princess and I in the whole room and she seemed to know about the paper, I unfolded it and read then nodded my head, although I was a little stunned. She nodded to.

Heavens knew I was getting tired of Maeve and Laurens drama. For every occasion they argued about what I was to wear and what would make me look so distinguishable from the others. The worst part of all, I did not have a say in anything, even though I was the one to wear whatever they picked. My mind went out the window, to the apple tree and its juicy fruits. I walked to it and leaned against the window frame. I looked up to the sky. The sun was setting, it cast the sky in an orange and red colour, it was a gorgeous piece of marvellous art, the sun itself looked like a ball, a not so bright ball slowly sinking into the further part of the river giving up orange and red flames in the heavens. The ball was reflected on the rivers surface, giving it the same flame colour as the sky, the further the big ball sunk the faster the trees became silhouettes of themselves. I sighed nature was indeed beautiful and it was a mystery. I looked to my side towards the princes private room, it was dark and there was not a single sign of life, I sighed again, because of what the night would bring and with what was asked of me.
