Christens pov
I'm kinda nervous in a few minutes I'm about to meet Tobins parents. "Looking good press got a hit date" Kelly said behind me whistling.
"Yeah and I'm meeting Tobins parents"
"Really that's weird"
"Why is that" I looked at her with curiosity on my face.
"Because everytime Cindy had asked to meet on of Tobins girlfriends she find every excuse in the book so they never meet. You must be really special miss. Christen Press"
"She told me now of her girlfriends have met her parents but I didn't think much of it until now thanks kell now I'm even more nervous"
"Chris don't be they are going to love you okay I mean what's not to like my parents love you so I'm sure her will too"
"Well I better go so I'm not late wish me luck"
"Good luck press but you really don't need it" I made my way over to where Tobins locker room was and waited for her to come out. Soon her and some of her teammates came out.
"Hey beautiful" Tobin said she looked good.
"Tobin is this your hot cause damn you freaking win" one of her teammates yelled.
"Well there not the only ones that think your lucky"
"Oh yeah"
"Yeah Kelly also complemented me and then talked to me about meeting your parents"
"What she say" Tobin looked nervous.
"Just what you told me that I'm the first one to be meeting your parents"
"Well are you ready because there waiting outside for us"
"Yes and no"
"You'll do great there gonna love you" she kissed my forehead then grabbed my hand and lead me out of where her parents were waiting for us. "Hi mom, hi dad" she said while hugging them"
"You must be Christen you can call me Jeff I'm Tobins dad"
"And we talked on the phone it's nice to meet you In person"
"It's nice to meet both of you" they both pulled me into hugs which I didn't expect.
"Now I hope you guys are hungry because I know I am" Tobins dad said.
"You know I'm always hungry" Tobin said and I see where she gets that from. "We will meet you there"
"Okay see guys in a bit honey" her mom said.
At the restaurant.
Tobins pov
The host brought us over to our table and said or waitress would be with us soon. Me and Chris sat next to each very close and I had my hand on her thigh. "So what are you planning on getting Chris"
She looked at her menu and then looked at me.
"Um I was thinking I'd start with the chicken salad and then try the fettuccine"
"Ooo that sounds good"
"What about you tobs"
"I think I'm going to try the steak and just get some fries for my side"
"You should definitely share some of those fries"
"Only if you share some of your fettuccine"
"Deal" she said with a big smile on her face. Then I turned to face my mom who had a big smile on her face. Im guessing she just watched our whole interaction.
"What" I said, Chris and my dad looked up at me.
"Nothing honey" before I could say anything else our waitress came over. She was staring at my girlfriend.
"Hi my name is Jane what can I start you guys off with today." Chris looked up at her for a moment.
"Um me and her will just have water"
"Okay and for the rest of you"
"I'll have a lemonade"
"I'll just have water too" my dad says.
"Okay and are you guys ready to order"
"Yeah I'll have a chicken salad and the fettuccini"
"Okay" she took the rest of our orders not taking her eyes off Chris for a second.
"That was weird" my dad said.
"It happens all the time dad what can I say I'm pretty lucky to be able to call this girl mine" he smiles at my answer and it made Chris blush.
"Im mean your not the only lucky one tobs" Chris said.
"That is true" I said bring her hand up to my lips and placed a soft kiss onto it. The waitress brought back our drinks and saw mine and Chris's hands. She looked disappointed and nolonger tried to flirt with my girlfriend. Which was a first.
We talked for a little bit about life and soon I had to excuse my self to the bathroom. My mom followed me there leaving my dad and Chris alone. "Wow" my mom said once she saw we were alone.
"What"
"I really like her Tobin and I can tell you do to why else would you let us meet her."
"I don't know"
"What's so different about her Toby"
"Honestly mom I've been trying to figure that out my self"
"Well she's special that's for sure and I mean that in a good way Toby I am really happy for you"
"Thanks mom"
"I do have one question"
"What is it"
"Are you in love with this girl"
"I don't know mom we've only been dating for like a month"
"But didn't you have a crush on her back in college"
"How do you know that"
"I have my sources"
"Maybe I do I really don't mom"
"Well you guys act like your in love that's for sure"
When she said that it really made me think about it. We made our way back to the table where my dad and chris were laughing. "What's so funny" my mom asked.
"I was telling Christen some story's about when we first met"
"Those are some funny stories" I said. Our waitress brought out our food. Chris ate all of her salad but barely touched the fettuccine. She was on the other hand stealing like all my fries. I looked at her for a moment laughing with my parents and see how they interacted. In that moment I knew she was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.
Saying goodbye.
"It was really nice meeting you guys I had a lot of fun"
"We did too"
"Hey Tobin can talk to you for a second"
"Yeah I'll be right back babe" me and my dad walked away so they couldn't hear us. "What's up dad"
"I just want to give you this it was your grandmother's ring I want you to give it someone who truly makes you happy and loves you"
"Wow dad are you sure"
"After I saw the way you and Christen were I knew it was the perfect time to give this to you. She's the one kiddo now don't mess it up"
"Trust me I don't plan on it"
Back with Tobins mom and Christen.
Christens pov
"So Christen while they have there talk let's have one ourselves" This made me nervous.
"Okay" I said trying not to show how nervous I am.
"Don't worry honey it's nothing bad I just want to say that I really like you and I really hope this works out between you too. I've never seen her so happy before. You do that to her. Your good for her."
"Thanks Cindy she makes me really happy and I really don't see myself with anyone else"
"I have one question"
"Yes"
"Are you in love with my daughter"
"Well I don't know we've only been dating for a month, but I definitely see a future with her"
"Okay I'll see you later bye Christen"
"Bye Cindy" she gave me a quick hug and then joined her husband.
"You ready love"
"Yep" the whole way home I thought about what Cindy said to me. Maybe I am in love with tobin but she probably not ever there yet so it doesn't even matter.
