Christens pov
We are back at camp and I'm sitting out on the balcony playing with my engagement ring. I'm still a little shocked that I'm going to be marrying Tobin. It's crazy who would have thought that the girl I fell for after one night of talking and messing around would be my future wife. I am so happy that I get to marry the love of my life and my family was there to see it. I just wish my mom could have seen it, but I know she's watching from up there. I feel a hand on my shoulder. A smile immediately forms on my face when I see Tobin standing there. "Hey baby"
"Hey"
"What you doing out here"
"Just thinking and getting some air"
"What you thinking about" she said sitting next to me.
"My mom"
"Oh" it was silent for a moment. "Do you wanna talk about it"
"Just I was thinking about how I wish she could have been there when you asked me to marry you" she grabbed my hand and interlock our fingers. I didn't look at her I just kept looking at the view of the city.
"Chris I really don't know what to say except that I kinda wish she was there too but I'm sure she was watching from where she is at."
"Yeah I know I just wish that wasn't the case"
"I know baby" she said starting to try and pull me over to her. "Come here" she pulled me into her lap and held me tight. "I love you so much Chris"
"I love you so much too" she pulled me into a kiss and it was full of a lot of love.
"Now how would you like to go and get some dinner just the two of us" she sent me a goofy smile I couldn't help but smile at her as well.
"I would love too"
"Okay let's go" she said standing up and grabbing my hand. I just grabbed hers and followed. She took me to a little restaurant down the road from the hotel. We were just waiting for our food. "Hey baby?"
"Yeah"
"When do you want to have our wedding"
"I mean we do have the World Cup coming up so maybe we should wait till after in less you wanna do a little wedding with the team and our families"
"I think a little wedding with the team and our families would be nice."
"Me too but when will we do it"
"I think we should do it may 23"
"But that's in like a month Tobin how are we supposed to put together a wedding in a month"
"With some help of course you do remember we have multiple teammates that are married. Plus Allie wants to go with you to get your dress or suit what ever you plan on wearing"
"Okay but we need to tell everyone now"
"I'll call my mom when we get back to the hotel" a big smile formed across my face at just the thought of her becoming my wife in a month. "What" she said returning the smile.
"Nothing I just still can't believe we are actually getting married"
"Me too but then I see that ring on your finger and then remember you all mine which still amazes me"
That comment made me blush. This girl knows all the right things to say. Our waiter finally came out with our food and he slipped me a piece of paper. Before I could say anything he walked away. I just looked at Tobin. She looked as confused as me. I open it up. It read "I think your very beautiful maybe I could take you out sometime here's my number just give me a call if your down" I just laugh and show it to Tobin. She laughed too. We ate our food and waited for the waiter to come back.
When he did I had to say something about the note. "I'm sorry but I'm gonna have to decline your offer I don't think my fiancé would appreciate me going out with someone other then her"
"Oh I see" he grabbed the money and left. Tobin just laughed.
"He looked very nervous after you said that Chris"
"Well he should be just asked your fiancé out in front of you"
"You handled it well now let's go home my love" she said standing up and holding her hand out for me to grab it. I did and we made our way back to the hotel. On our way back we just enjoyed the sights and just walked in silence. When we got back Tobin called her mom to tell her about our plan.
"Yes mom this was both our ideas" she was pacing while talking to her mom. "Okay mom I'll tell her love you too yep see you soon okay bye" after the call end she plopped on the bed.
"What she say"
"Just that she hopes we really thought about it and can get everything ready by then but if we need her help all we have to do was ask. Also she says hi"
"Well she can help if she wants we have to figure out where we are gonna be at around may 23rd"
"I'll talk to Jill about it"
"Okay I'm gonna call my dad real quick then we should watch a movie."
"Okay I'll go get some snacks and if I see any teammates on the way I'll tell them"
"Okay" she gave me a kiss then left. The phone rang once then he picked up.
"Hey sweetie"
"Hey dad"
"How's things going"
"Good really good me and Tobin set a date we decided we were just going to do a little wedding on may 23rd"
"Sounds wonderful where at"
"We don't know what yet but once we find out I'll let you know"
"Okay sweetie I just marked it on the calendar I can't wait"
"Me either I'd probably marry Tobin right now if I could."
"She probably feels the same way Chrissy"
"Well I'm gonna let you go now have good rest of you night I love you dad"
"I love you too Chris" right when I hung up Tobin came through the door with a ton of snacks.
"Hey baby I'm back also I ran into ash Ali and Meghan on the way back and told them about the wedding so that's a start"
"Yeah it is you ready for a movie night"
"For sure I got all the essentials"
"Perfect" I leaned in and gave her a sweet but short kiss. When I pulled away she had a big smile on her face. "I love you Tobin"
