It thanksgiving morning I wake up before mostly everyone and make my way to the kitchen. Where I found Tyler already boiling potatoes and chopping up the vegetables. "Good morning ty"
"Morning Chris"
"Did you start the ham or were you waiting for me"
"I was waiting for you" then our dad walks in.
"Good morning"
"Morning dad" me and ty say at the same time.
"Did you start the turkey yet"
"No dad that's your job you have the turkey and Chris has the ham. Now what should I make for breakfast."
"How about some pancakes" my dad said.
"Just like every year" I asked.
"Exactly" I fished putting the ham in the roaster and washed my hands off.
"I'm gonna go wake up Tobin is there coffee because she's not gonna be pleasant until
She gets some in her system."
"Yeah it just finished brewing" I headed up to my room to find my girlfriend still asleep. I got back in bed and cuddled into her. She turned around so she was now facing me and cuddled into my neck. I kissed her cheek a couple of times till she moved and I could reach her lips. It took her a minute but she eventually kissed me back. "Hmmm what an amazing way to wake up"
"Happy thanksgiving baby" I said and kissed her again.
"Happy first thanksgiving together my love"
"Wait your right it is our first thanksgiving together"
"With many more to come"
"So" I said rubbing my thumb across her cheek while I cupped it. "You wanna take a shower" she jumped out of bed.
"Of course I do now let's go" she said running into the bathroom. I can't help but laugh about what a dork she is. I soon joined her.
We were all up and eating breakfast together Tobin got her cup of coffee and is even more happy then she was before. It's almost about time for everyone to start showing up. "Alright I think it's time for everyone to put on there dinner clothes" my dad said standing up and heading to his room. Well all soon followed to our own rooms. I put on a nice dress. Tobin put on black pants and a white shirt.
"Looking good press"
"Not so bad yourself Heath" she pulled me over and we kissed. The kiss didn't break till we heard the doorbell ring. "I guess it's time for you to meet the whole family"
"How many are actually coming"
"Not much my dads sister and my moms brother plus there kids who have their own kids"
"Fun"
"Are you nervous"
"A little bit but it'll be okay" then her phone started ringing. "It's my mom I gotta take this how about I just meet you down there"
"Okay" I gave her a quick kiss then head down to see my family. It was my moms sister kami and her daughter Lila. Plus her daughters kids jack and Mia.
"Oh hey Christen"
"Hey Lila good to see you again" she pulled me into a hug.
"How's soccer going" my aunt kami said.
"Good i don't know if you knew but I got called up to the national team"
"Oh that's great I always new you would do it"
"Thanks aunt kami" Tobin came down the stairs and my aunt instantly noticed her.
"Who's that" I turned and looked at Tobin who instantly smiled at me.
"That is my girlfriend Tobin" I waved Tobin over here. I grabbed her hand. "Tobin this is my aunt kami, aunt kami this Tobin"
"It's nice to meet you" Tobin said sticking out her free hand.
"It's nice to meet you too" she shook Tobins hand. The. Lila joined us.
"Hi" she said awkwardly. My aunt keeps looking at Tobin weird from where she's at.
"Hey Lila this is my girlfriend Tobin, Tobin this is my cousin Lila then the two kids running around are hers jack and Mia"
"It's nice to meet you Lila"
"Nice to meet you too" she smiled at me. "Chris I didn't know you had a girlfriend"
"Yeah for a while now we play together on the national team"
"Is that how you guys met"
"No actually we met in college but like didn't know each other's names. Then later on in life Kelly asked me to go out with her and her friends. Plus I was playing Tobin the next day and we have been together ever since"
"Well I'm really happy for you guys." Then the door bell rang again.
We all ate dinner together. My aunt kami just keeps staring at Tobin. Does she not like Tobin. I went into the kitchen to put some stuff away and my dad followed me. "The kids really like Tobin"
"Yeah she really is good with kids"
"Yeah she is your uncle likes her too"
"I don't think kami does she keeps staring at her"
"I have noticed that" I just kept putting the food away. "You know your mom was really happy about you and Tobin right"
"Yeah I remember a phone call we had about it I'm glad they got to meet" my dad pulled me into a hug.
"Me too, and Chris I really like Tobin to she really is special and she definitely is head over heels for you"
"Yeah she's is something else. She is very special" I said smiling while I watched her interact with my cousin. We made eye contact and she got up to come over to me. "Hey"
"Hey" she pulled me into her and hugged me.
"What's this for" I said when she pulled away a little.
"Just felt like giving you a hug" she said smiling. "So my mom asked me if we were coming to Christmas with them. I understand if you want to be with your dad"
"Tobin I would love to spend Christmas with your family. I mean it's our first Christmas together"
"Okay I'll tell her later" she gave me a quick kiss. When we pulled away I noticed my aunt watching us I guess Tobin also noticed. "I feel like she doesn't like me"
"Yeah I'm starting to get the same feeling" suddenly I felt uncomfortable why wouldn't she like Tobin I mean my mom liked Tobin. I just don't understand. "I think I'm gonna step outside a bit"
"Do you want me to come with you"
"No I think I just want to be by myself for a minute"
"Tobin come join the game" Kelly yelled from the living room. "Chris you come too"
"I'm good but Tobin will join you" I turned to Tobin. "I'm okay love really I just need fresh air go play the game with my family and Kelly"
"Promise your okay"
"I promise" she gave me a quick kiss and joined them in the living room. I went out side to the patio. I heard someone follow me out, it was my aunt.
"Chris"
"Yeah" I said sitting down. She sat in the chair across from me.
"When did you start dating girls?"
"College that's when I came out to mom and dad"
"Why"
"Why what"
"Why girls"
"That's just who I am attracted too. I mean I still like guys too I just like them equally"
"Oh so you like both"
"Yes" it was silent for a minute. "Do you not like Tobin because you've been giving her weird looks all night"
"I just feel like I know her from some where"
"Well she's pretty famous between playing for the thorns and the national team"
"I don't watch soccer I've seen her somewhere else I just can't pin it"
"Well maybe when you came to one of my matches in college"
"Maybe but I do like Tobin she's great all the kids love her"
"Yeah she really is great with them I'm pretty sure she has nieces and nephews so that could be why" we were silent again "she got to meet mom"
"She did well that's wonderful I'm glad your mother got to see you happy"
