OUTRUN

𝐎𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐋𝐎𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐄 𝐀𝐑𝐑𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐃 𝐇𝐎𝐌𝐄, she climbed up the stairs from the house, and up into her bedroom. She settled herself on her bed, putting on loads of blankets on top of her. Feeling the slightest warmth made her spine shiver. Darkness filled her eyes as random thoughts disappeared, though one stayed, not letting her get sleep.

She jumped out of bed, reaching for her laptop. She opened the search bar, as she typed her question. Many links popped out and she read the most she could, she couldn't believe her eyes. As much as she doesn't believe things off the internet, it made sense.

The cold hands, no reflection, mood change, long nails. Maybe a coincidence, either way she just can't go up to him, exposing him. What if she was wrong?

She opened more files and online books, saying the same thing, '𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞',
                   '𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧',
'𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐬','𝐢𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐥', '𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐬 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝'. She felt weird as if everything was spinning around in her room. From her closed window, she heard Jacob's voice. "I'm going out!", he yelled into his house.

She threw on her jacket and put on her hoodie, it was pouring outside. "𝙄'𝙡𝙡 𝙗𝙚 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙂𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙢𝙖" she whispered to her sleeping Nonna on the couch. She was feet away from Jacob, hiding between houses and the bushes. They were nearing the woods, the cold and direful adverse winds hitting her, pulling her slightly. As if the own wind didn't want her to go near Jacob.

They were now out in the middle of nowhere, and Jacob hadn't noticed her following closely behind him. Loranne heard squeaking coming above her. Birds flying every direction possible. Loranne's eyes watered as he snatched one from the air and snapped its neck. Her eyes widend as he snacked his teeth on the throat of the poor bird.

She heard a loud screech coming in front of her, a mice. Loranne was able to see his smirk as snatched it and about to crack its head. She stepped back ready to run, instead she trampled on a twig making it snap in half.

Loranne didn't wait for him to turn around, she shot up in another direction. Afraid of him catching up and hurting her. She felt crashes of leafs and twigs snapping, coming to her in a hurry. She couldn't outrun him.

She suddenly felt a big pain tumbling on her back making her twist and fall on her back. She groaned as she tried to recover from her harsh fall. She felt substantial weight on top of her as she opened her eyes slowly, afraid of what to see.

Jacob, with blood dripping from his mouth. He knew she saw, he could read her mind. He slowly got off her her, afraid of her running.

Loranne slowly stood up looking around, trying to find a way to escape him."𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧'𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐧 𝐦𝐞". She sighed deeply taking in another deep breath.

Loranne looked up at him, staring into his now light red eyes. "𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮?"

He looked guilty and a nervous wreck, "𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐚𝐦", he replied tiredly.

He laughed trying to hide away his fear, he found out and she knew. Jacob walked over to the sun and his face immediately glowed with tons of glitter that was never there before. His face looked as if soft butter melting on a hot summer day. "𝐈'𝐦 𝐚 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫", he said looking down.

She was afraid to say anything that could offend him and that was able to annoy him. "how could you?", she yelled forming tears in her eyes.

She felt her eyes become watery, as she tried to prepare what she was about to ask. "𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐬?" she breathed out.

He didn't reply, all was heard was the chirping birds and the wind howling along with the pouring rain. A hot wet tears ran down her face and she quickly wiped it away, "𝐲𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧'𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮", as more hot tears ran down her face.

He felt guilty, as if a sharp knife hit his throat, he couldn't speak. He nodded slowly.

'𝒐𝒉 𝒎𝒚 𝒈𝒐𝒅', she thought. She slowly backed away, as she felt a tree come in contact with her back, she ran as fast as her feet could take her. Her stomach curled up feeling the same wave of nausea hit her stomach.

She was able to find her way back, stumbling to open her door, slamming it shut. Running upstairs and falling on her knees once she got to her room. Dragging herself to her bathroom, throwing it all out from her system. Gagging it all out as she tied her hair with a hair clip. She felt horrible and disgusting, tasting the aftertaste of vomit. She laid down, curled up in a ball. And cried her eyes out.
