ABSENCE

JACOBS ABSENCES made her stomach pit in with worry. Europe being the caring person she was, noticed and asked her many times if Anne was alright.

Loranne mentally thanked Europe for being so loving and caring

As school ended, it was raining heavily. Not more than ever, but still a lot. No thunder or lightning this time, just hail.

On the way home, Europe had after class studies so she had to walk home. Loranne was devastated after hearing she would have to walk home.

She took herself to the bus stop, waiting for the next transport to arrive. She sat down, patting her red chipped nails.

As the rain increased, Anne felt more anxious and floppy. Her hair was dripped with rain, her face was a tint of pink, and she wanted to go home.

She looked around, squinting her eyes to see if her transport was anywhere near.

All to see was foggy, lonely, empty streets.

She sighed loudly before sitting back down. Instead of waiting more minutes and wasting time, she stood up gathering her backpack and walking down the frosty sidewalk.

That night, Loranne spent her time 'wisely' doing assignments and homework. She was eventually tired from her back slumping on the chair and her bottom hurt.

She closed her binder, setting all her school stuff on her side counter. She was exhausted and needed sleep.

She looked at her hanged antique clock, '11:43 pm'

Loranne settled herself in her pink covers, laying all her stuffed buddies on the ground.

Nonna came into Loranne's room, to kiss her a goodnight. She sat on the small chair Loranne had, rocking it front to back.

"What was mom like?"

The question took Non aback, as she tried to gather the words she would say to Anne.

"She was a boy's dream come true, lovely hair, lovely body, and a beautiful personality. She cared deeply about your father and everyone else. People would call her crazy because of how nice she was, a smile that would never fade away. A smile that brightens up in saddened room."

Loranne felt her mother's warmth, as if she was near somehow.

"What about dad?"

"He was the complete opposite from your mother. A strong tuff guy, who never let his guard down. Always bragging and showing off. He was also a girls dream. Good hair, good body, but the nasty thing was his attitude. When your mother introduced me to him, I felt ashamed that my daughter had fell in love with such a man with an attitude"

Nonna had zoned out by the time she'd finished her last sentence.

"But who am I to judge, love is love. You can't stop it as hard as you try"

Nonna kissed Anne for the last time before heading out.

As much as Anne tried to push away her feelings for the boy she fears, she knew she liked him.

She thought about all the pros and cons.

He's very caring, polite, good looking, nice smile, intelligent.

But

He's a monster.
