AS I ENTERED MY HOME, the fresh air I missed so much filled my nose. It smelled delightful. Grandma helped me into the kitchen closing my eyes shut with a grey blindfold.
My senses caught on to the freshly baked treats . I felt hands gently untie my blindfold. Smelling the sweet familiar cologne surrounding my body. Seeing the delicious cookies, pie, and cupcakes placed on the table. I turned around to see Jacob smiling, genuinely happy.
He grabbed my hand pulling me into a soft warm hug. His fingers gently strolled my back, as I felt his heart beat steadily dance. I felt safe and comfortable in his presence.
As I let go, I walked over to my Nonna. "thank you", I thanked her. I greeted his mother, as she warmed me with a big hug and a teethy smile. I was safe and happy, surrounded by people whom I love and adore me back.
