𝐋𝐎𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐄 𝐖𝐎𝐊𝐄 𝐔𝐏 𝐓𝐎 a loud sound of rain being thrashed on her window and roof. She wouldn't usually get scared, but the rain was hitting her window ten times harder than normal. She stood up from her position, off the floor and quietly opened her bedroom door that led to the walkway to each bedroom.

She made her way down the stairs as quiet as she could be. The rain backed her up already making much noise. Every step she took felt so weird, she wasn't one to be afraid of the dark but this time around she was.

The cold breeze stood her neck and arm hairs elevated on her skin, as she shivered trying to hide the fact she was cold. The cold frosty floor coming in touch with Loranne's bare feet. She looked around the room and there is where she spotted a figure. A tall pale figure. The moon light shining over the shadow making it glisten and glow. She furrowed her eyebrows as she slowly walked towards the shadow.

She stepped the last step, being inches away from the figure. Face to face, she realized she had encountered the boy next door. She took a step further, seeing the nervous boy. She hadn't said a word, none of them hadn't. She closed her eyes, rubbing them in the process. When she opened them, he was gone.

She looked around the room to find nothing, no evidence of break-through.

"𝑰𝒕'𝒔 𝒋𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒂 𝒅𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒎", she told herself repeatedly.

She walked back stairs and plopped onto her bed, yawning and falling asleep.

Thursday Morning, the day before Friday, almost the weekend. As the bell rung, attending all students to enter class. Though that morning was different. No morning attendance was counted, no Thursday assembly, the teacher did not start the lesson right away.

"𝙄 𝘼𝙢 𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙢𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙙 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙨 𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙙?", he asked the class

The class erupted into agreements and disagreements. Loranne was confused on what everyone was talking about.

She felt a hot breath but a cold figure next to her ear, " 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒏'𝒕 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒅?"

She looked over to the boy with a slight smile and furrowed eyebrows, "no what happened?"

"𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡", her eyebrows raised as she cleared her throat.

That thought made her stomach curl up and explode with bumps. The lesson eventually started talking about the missing people. Most topics making her fill up with the feeling of nausea.

At lunch, Loranne felt so separated from everyone else, she hadn't seen Jacob either which turned her mood more off. She watched as the cafeteria grew louder every minute a kid came in.

She caught a glimpse of Jacobs jacket and stood up to follow him. She was a little far behind him. It seemed as he was leaving school, but her mind switched off that thought when they neared the bathrooms. "𝐣𝐚𝐜𝐨𝐛!", she yelled to get his attention.

He turned around as he smiled to her, "𝙮𝙚𝙖𝙝?". She stuttered trying to find out the words to tell him, "wanna come over later?". His eyes lit up but quickly shot down, " 𝐈'𝐦 𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐲, 𝐦𝐲 𝐦𝐨𝐦 𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐈 𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐲.", he continued apologizing, but Loranne zoned out into something in view. A big vanity mirror, only showing her reflection.

As if Jacob was invisible, she saw nothing but her face in worry. She did not mention it, she bid her goodbyes and walked away, left in shock, and the boy in sorrow.

not knowing anything she had seen.
