CHAPTER 18

"Good morning," I greeted Abreu when she got inside my car. I leaned in to kiss her but she put the seatbelt on first. Napa-ngiwi ako.

"Oh, sorry," she said, laughing before she gave me a kiss. And then I just can't get off the smile on my face as we drove away.

Hanggang ngayon ay hindi parin gano'n karami 'yung customers namin. Wala pa siguro sa city 'yung mga tao at baka nasa kaniya-kaniya pa nilang mga probinsya.

I was leaning my waist on the edge of the sink while Abreu leaned her back at the counter near the cashier thingy. In that position, we talked. We never ran out of topics because there's a lot to catch up.

"If they look mean or if they look like their judging me... Hindi ko na sila pinapansin. But Brooke said that I look like I'm gonna slap someone even with that poker face..."

I laughed. "Yeah. The move bitch face."

She smiled and cocked her head like she remembered that. And then she whispered, "the move b face..."

Napangiti rin ako. At least hindi namin kinukuwento 'yung nakaraan na parang nakaraan na lang 'yon. Kinukwento namin 'yung nakaraan habang nasa kadugtong na kami.

"Do you have plans later?" I asked her.

She looked at me before grimacing. "Do you wanna come with us? We're gonna eat samgyup..."

Dahan-dahan akong tumango. "Kasama ba si Jaeden pati si Andrew?"

She laughed and nodded. "Of course... I'm not sure if Kuya Arsen would be there too."

"Am I even allowed there?"

She rolled her eyes. "Jaeden brings Sirene all the time and Zoe brings your brother too."

Pinigilan kong ngumiti habang tumatango. "They bring their girlfriend and boyfriend?"

Abreu nodded like what she said didn't affect me. She looked at me like she's saying that our conversation will be continued later when a costumer went it.

Napangiti ako.

Hindi pa naman namin napag-uusapan 'yun... But... We fucking made out! We kissed! I fucking slid my tongue inside her mouth! Are we together now? Again?

She's still Asian though... That matter still needs to be confirmed. Alam ko na sa ibang bansa na kapag nag-halikan na 'yung dalawa ay sila na kagaad at hindi na kailangan pang pag-usapan.

Nang malapit na mag-break si Abreu ay  um-order na ako sa Jollibee. I don't know what she wants to eat so I just ordered at Jollibee. Everybody likes Jollibee.

"What's that?" Tanong niya nang makapasok na kami sa stock room at binigay ko sa kaniya 'yung supot na may chicken, spaghetti, at coke float.

"Pagkain siguro," I said and she rolled her eyes.

"Alam ko..." she said before accepting it. I pulled her a chair before sitting next to her. "You didn't have too... We get like two free slices of cake and an iced coffee a day."

I nodded. "Yeah, but that's not even dinner and lunch," I said and she was just looking at me. I laughed and elbowed her. "It's okay..."

She sighed. "Thank you."

I nodded with a smile. "No problem. Now eat so we can use the last five minutes of our break for—"

Natawa siya. "Hindi ka ba kinakabahan na mamaya na bigla silang pumasok?"

Umawang 'yung labi ko at napa-tango. Tinawanan niya ako bago siya nag-simulang kumain.

Napangiti na lang ako nang makita na naubos niya lahat 'yon.
