The Magnificent Seven (4)

Kylie's POV

"I don't think we're gonna have to worry about hunting them." Bobby said as we walked into the next room. Envy's screams had calmed down, reducing to begging and maybe even crying.

"What does that mean?" Sam questioned, his eyebrow raised and his arms crossed.

"It means," I turned to him with a heavy sigh, "this joker's right. They're gonna be hunting us. And they're not gonna quit easy."

"You guys," Dean started, "why don't you take Tamara and head for the hills?" He offered. "I'll stay back, slow them down, but you a little time."

I blinked rapidly at my boyfriend, resisting the urge to punch him in his chiseled jaw.

"You're insane, Dean." Sam scoffed. "Just forget about it, okay?"

"Sam's right." Bobby agreed while I stood with clenched fists, visibly fuming.

"There's six of them, guys." Dean stated, looking at us as if we were the crazy ones. "We're outmanned, we're outgunned. We'll be dead by dawn."

"Maybe, but . . ." Bobby trailed with a quick shake of his head, "there's no place to run that they won't find us."

"Well, let's not make it easy for them." Dean smirked.

The house began to shake, the floor creaking below my boots. Envy's final scream echoed as a gust of wind blew out the candles that lit up the room.

The house settled, leaving an eerie silence.

"Demon's out of the guy." Tamara unapologetically announced.

"And the guy?" Sam asked, already knowing the answer.

She shrugged her whole demeanor tense. "He didn't make it." She answered coldly.

I felt my jaw click at the built up rage that was brewing inside of me. Between Tamara's hunger for revenge and Dean's need for sacrifice, I was a ticking time bomb waiting to go off.

"We need to get ready." I announced instead of snapping. "There's six more of those things waiting to bust through the front door. We don't have time to wait."

Dean nodded in agreement. "Alright, Kylie and I will-"

I shook my head. "I don't want to be around you right now."

He blinked in surprise as the floor whined under Sam's boots as he awkwardly shifted. "What?"

"I'll grab some weapons, and will go around the house with Tamara salting up the place."

I watched as Dean's perfectly white teeth caught themselves in his bottom lip, his emerald eyes full of hurt.

I couldn't be around him right now. Not when he wanted to be everyone's savior and sacrifice himself.

"Come on." Tamara grabbed me, pulling me away from the hurting man that I loved so much.

Tamara and I gathered up weapons and a bag of salt, going from room to room lining doors and windows to protect ourselves.

"He always like that?" Tamara asked.

I glanced up from the line of salt I was making and nodded. "Yeah, but it's getting worse." I whispered.

"You want my advice?" She asked, her lips in a tight line.

I paused my movement before nodding.

"Leave him now."

The thought alone made the breath shoot from my lungs and my stomach twist in knots. "You'd leave Isaac?" I asked, surprised.
