A Very Supernatural Christmas (2)

Kylie's POV

I remember seeing a light outside the dingy motel window when I was four. It was high up in the sky and blinking as it navigated it's way through the blizzard we were having. I couldn't remember what state we were in, I just remember how cold it was that year. How the snow glistened as it poured down heavily covering the roads and the streets.

My four year old mind thought it was Santa, delivering his presents to the boys and girls who were eagerly waiting in their beds. I knew he wouldn't give me anything, he never did. However, it didn't stop me from going outside, my bare feet becoming buried in the cold snow. I didn't care how bad it burned my skin, how it felt like I was walking on pins and needles. I was on a mission, to find Santa and ask him to take me away.

I wasn't sure how long I spent out there, I was so focused on the blinking light and the taste of freedom. I didn't  stop walking until I lost sight of object in the sky, the snow becoming too heavy to see. My tears had become so cold as they streamed down my face while I trudged my way back to the motel room.

By some Christmas miracle, my dad didn't make it back to the room that night. He never knew that I had escaped chasing a fictional dream.

One that wouldn't come until years later.

"Are you finding everything okay?"

I turned away from the jewelry display case that had caught my attention when I first walked in, my eyes going to the woman dressed as an elf. She was a teen, most likely trying to make some money for the holiday. I almost felt bad for her, working in a place like this.

Santa's village was a cheap and dingy make of a Christmas cottage. Sure it was nice for children to come and see the famous man in the red suit, but to the sensible adults like myself, it was a bust.

"Just looking. Thank you." I nodded politely before looking over at Dean and Sam who were casually walking around. "Excuse me." I smiled, stepping aside to go meet up with the Winchester brothers who looked bored and unamused by the flashing lights and trees that lacked snow.

"Find anything interesting?" Dean had asked, his chin tilting towards the display case.

I gave a shrug, not wanting to admit that I had enjoyed looking at the fake jewelry. Wanting nothing more than the stupid pearl ring that would look too big and awkward on my ring finger. I didn't have much jewelry, fake or real, so when something caught my eye I became almost fixated on it.

"Just some rings that would make my finger green." I gave a small smile, watching as two children ran pass me in an excited rush. "You guys find anything besides this depressing excuse for a Santa Village?" I grimaced as I took in the muddy surroundings, instead of the sparkling white snow.

"It does kind of lend credence to the theory, don't it?" Dean raised a brow as he looked at some of the worn down decorations.

"Yeah, but anti-Claus?" Sam questioned. "Couldn't be." He said with a shake of his head.

"It's a Christmas miracle." I mumbled under my breath, shoving my hands into the pockets of my jacket.

"Hey," Dean took quick steps so he was in front of us, halting Sam and I from continuing the tour, "speaking of, we should have on this year."

I cocked a brow, not sure what he was talking about. "Have one what?" I asked slowly, my lips pursed slightly.

"A Christmas."

Sam and I exchanged glances, his more harsh than mine. I could tell something was eating away at him, a flash of hurt and anger in his eyes.

"No, thanks." He scoffed, shaking his head towards his brother who looked very confused at Sam's attitude.
