MILA

"I knew a boy just like you"

Wanting what you can't have will only make you want it more.

Inviting my cheating ex to dinner may not have been one of my brightest ideas, but I know the image of my tongue down Elijah's throat is embedded in Theo's brain.

After classes, I rushed home to pick out an outfit. Traffic was slow and to pass the time, I made mental notes of what I would say to Theo.

Approaching the driveway, I pulled my phone out of my purse and started googling this woman. Yes, I would see her tonight but I have to know what I'm in for. I can't be caught by surprise once again and let Theo get the upper hand.

"Theodore Romano and girlfriend"

I clicked the first article I came across.

The headline read, "Business CEO Theodore Romano and Model Ingrid Salinger at Movie Premiere"

Model.

Of course Theo went for the prettiest girl in the room. Her hair in the picture was a mesmerizing light blonde, and her eyes are round and green. Like mine, but lighter. The brown dress she wore showed off her skinny, smooth looking legs and fitted around her waist, while pushing up her breasts.

Theo's hand was wrapped around her thin waist and a smile was on both of their faces.

Ten minutes of clicking each article that included her name would've turned into longer if my mother hadn't reminded me to get ready.

I walked inside the house and was greeted with the strong aroma of spices.

Kissing both my mother and father on the cheek, I began to walk inside my bathroom and turn on the shower.

Lathering my body was my favorite part of a shower. The water bouncing off your skin and the smell of your body wash.

I haven't straightened my hair since middle school. I made a promise to myself after going to a school dance and my hair frizzed the moment I stepped outside and I had completely embarrassed myself, but since I'm older and have a little more experience after straightening Odessa'a hair on multiple occasions, I want to give it a try one more time.

Makeup is not my strong suit, but I love how beautiful I look and feel while wearing it.

My skin care routine was always the same. I started to apply foundation, concealer, contour, eyeshadow, and lashes before doing a neutral lip combo.

The dress I picked is light green with sparkles all over, and hugged my body perfectly. My heels are white with a strap around the ankles.

There was no way Theo wouldn't look twice at me.

My hair took the longest since it's so long and thick.

Picking up my phone, I texted Elijah to make sure he was on his way, but he responded and said he'd been talking to my parents for about fifteen minutes.

I didn't tell my mom Elijah cheated on me. I was too ashamed. I lied and told her school was too much for the both of us and we mutually went our separate ways.
