MILA

"You and me, always forever"

***

Day of the wedding

Sunlight glared through the big, open windows of the Church's bridal suite. The baby moved in my belly as my mama tightened my dress.

"Tighter, mama." I said, trying to suck in some of my stomach.

"Mija, If I go any tighter, the baby will be crushed."

"Dios mío." It felt too loose, but Odessa and Cami both agreed I looked amazing.

"I can't believe you're getting married!" Odessa said from in the corner of the room, snapping pictures of me.

"Neither can I. This feels like a surreal dream that I'll wake up from any minute." I smiled. "Ow!" I turned to my mama who just pinched the crap out of me.

"Just reassuring you it isn't a dream. This is real, mija."

I playfully rolled my eyes. "You didn't have to pinch me."

Abuelita Griselda came into the room with a bouquet of pink Carnations. "Mila! My beautiful girl." She gave the flowers go Cami and rushed over to me. "Besitos. I don't want to ruin your gorgeous makeup." She turned to Odessa who spent two hours on this face.

"Having second thoughts yet? I sure did when I married your abuelito. He snored." She joked.

"Well no cold feet, but if I did want to back out, I'm kind of already strapped in." I pointed my finger to my belly and giggled.

"Sí, Sí, how could I forget? My first great grand baby. I bet it's a boy." She cooed at my stomach.

I was so glad Abuelita flew in for my wedding, even though there'd been trouble as to where she'd be staying.

She didn't want to spend her money, so papa surprisingly stepped in and said she could stay with them at the house.

Mateo arrived not too long ago as Theo's best man.

He doesn't have many friends, but my friends are his now.

I pushed those thoughts to the back of my head as I walked toward where the guests and music were.

Chills ran through my body as I imagined Theo standing up at the alter waiting for me.

Papa had already told me I looked beautiful so many times I lost count after the fourth.

He latched onto my arm, and asked if I was ready, and I nodded.

The patterned, brown doors opened and the gaze of everyone's stare fell onto me. Including Theo's.

The cold air brushed against my back as the violinists began to play the most generic wedding song.

I had no complaints, though. I liked how traditional this was. Despite me already being pregnant with my fiancé's kid.

I forgot how to breathe as Theo watched me walk toward him. The feeling of his stare made me nervous, even if he'd seen me naked countless times.

But this was different, we're about to profess our love in front of our families.

He wore a gorgeous black suit with a pink handkerchief, just as we discussed, and his hair was freshly cut, but those curls I loved still were wild.

I could see tears forming in his eyes as I inched closer toward him.

I'd imagined this day since I was sixteen years old, and this couldn't have surpassed my expectations.

The feeling of someone waiting for me was just exhilarating.

I glanced over and saw Laura and Priscilla, along with her kids in the front row. Priscilla's husband couldn't make it, but she said he's here in spirit.

Both my heartbeats raced as I approached the alter, and papa gave me away with a kiss on my cheek.

I thought it was a bit misogynistic how a man gives you to another, but I couldn't read into that right now.

I'm marrying the man of my dreams. The father of my child.

I quickly glanced over to see Uncle Bax blowing me a kiss, and seemingly I had his endless support.

I blushed as I stepped up, and faced Theo.

Bliss filled my body as the happiness ran through me.

We both repeated words which ended in 'I do.'

The moment he slid that god given ring on my finger, everything became real.

Our relationship—now marriage—our kid, me being a mother, him being a father. The next ten years flashed before my eyes and I couldn't have been more fortunate.

We kissed like no one was watching, and after we finally got the strength to let each other go, Theo whispered something against my lips only I could hear. "You're mine. Until death do us part."

After our reception dinner, we accepted gifts and congratulations on both our marriage and our baby.

I didn't think my extended family would be too happy about my pregnancy so soon, but to hell what they think.

Music blasted as Theo and I walked to our limo to head to on our honeymoon in Bora Bora.

He leaned in to whisper something in my ear. "This dress is beautiful."

I blushed. "Thank you. You like it?"

"I love it. I can't wait to see what's underneath, though." His voice gruff and needy.

I could get used to this. Spending the rest of my life as Mila Romano, wife to the wild and free Theodore Romano.

"This is our illicit romance. And I don't ever want it to end."

Okay, maybe I'm sobbing right now. I know this last official chapter was short as hell, but I couldn't bring myself to prolong this. I'm already in the corner of my room gasping for air.

I'll formally thank you in the chapter labeled "Enmity," so go read that, rascals.

Vote and comment.

Until next time, Lola. <3
