MILA
"I'll put the sparkle right back in your eyes"
***
I woke up with the bubble guts, once again.
Running to the bathroom, I quickly put my hair up and my face in the toilet.
I could faintly hear Theo on a conference call in the kitchen while cooking breakfast for us.
He decided to stay here with me, despite me telling him to go to work.
When I finished throwing up, I wiped my mouth, then brushed my teeth to get the taste to fade away.
"Good morning," Theo mouthed to me, and then kissed my forehead.
Last night, we stayed up last night and talked about alcohol.
He said he'll quit. For good.
No more only on special occasions, or when he's stressed.
It didn't take much convincing, he told me he'd do anything not to hurt me again.
I looked over his shoulder and saw pancakes on the stove, and smiled.
He's back to reading my mind. I love that.
I sat down at the table, and it was perfect timing because his call had just ended.
I cut my pancakes into triangles. Childish, I know.
"How was it?" I said, taking a bite. "Infuriating. Your father wants to expand the company to India, but their sales are going down. Our stock could crash if we make such a quick decision."
I listened as he went on about the deals he has to close this week.
My father and him have been getting along like they used to. No more awkward silences or death stares.
"I threw up this morning."
"You should see a doctor, I'll take you when you finish eating."
"No, my mom called and she isn't doing anything, she'll take me. You need to go into the office. It seems like this India expansion is a big deal."
"It is. I'm sorry, I told you I'd stay home with you today." He put on his suit jacket. "Baby, it's fine. Odessa is going to be here at lunch time, so I won't be alone." I reassured him.
"Text me when you get into the hospital and update me. I love you." Theo placed another kiss on my forehead and left the apartment.
I don't know how long this bug will last.
Hopefully not too long, I need to prepare everything for the wedding, which is in three months.
Everything has been hectic with my office planning on top of finding someone to marry Theo and I.
My mother wanted to opt for the same man who married her and my father, but he died a few months ago unfortunately, so we're still on the hunt.
I went into the bathroom and dressed in a blue sundress and a cropped cardigan, along with white sandals.
Once my mom and I arrived at the hospital, we were immediately seen since it wasn't very busy.
