MILA
"Oh no she likes another boy"
***
It was still early in the day, so I decided to shop for Camille's birthday party tomorrow.
I opened my closet door to look for something to wear for the rest of the day.
My eyes shifted to a sheer white button down. I threw it on with no bra and only one button connected.
I paired it with a silk-like material colorful mini skirt and gold accessories.
Walking inside my bedroom, I picked up a hair tie and put my hair back into a messy bun with curls sticking out.
I then slipped on white, open toe heels and then grabbed my purse, making sure my credit card was in it, and walked down the stairs.
"I'm going shopping for a friends birthday tomorrow, want me to grab you something pretty for your date night as well?" I asked my mom as I leaned over the kitchen island.
My parents had a very special date night every Friday to get my papa away from his work and to spend time with my mama. I loved how the spark was always there throughout their relationship, no matter how long they've been together.
"You don't have to, mija." My mother smiled at me.
My mom always had a problem with accepting gifts. She's the most self-sufficient person I know, and I admire her for that.
I got into my car and headed to Rodeo drive to pick out something nice.
Putting my playlist on shuffle while still skipping to the songs I want to listen to, I drove a bit above the speed limit and arrived in about fifteen minutes.
Window shopping didn't really appeal to me, but today I took my time.
Outshining the birthday girl is something I try to refrain from doing to keep the attention on her, so I pulled out my phone to text Camille and ask what kind of attire would be appropriate.
Me: Hey, what should I wear tomorrow?
I placed my cell back into my purse and entered a jewelry shop to wait for her response.
As I entered, I instantly fell in love with a 1/4 karat white gold diamond necklace. When I moved further inside, I noticed the price.
$599
Hm, I actually expected it to be pricier.
My thoughts were interrupted when I heard a deep voice with a thick accent come from behind me.
"It's almost as pretty as you."
I turned around and met Theo's mesmerizing brown eyes. I smiled.
Wait, why is he in a jewelry store?
"What're you doing here?" I inquired.
Theo looked around.
"I have a business deal to close tomorrow. Just looking to buy a new chain."
I raised my eyebrows. "Which one are you looking at?"
"This way, love." He turned his shoulder and I followed. "This one."
Shit. That chain could dangle in my face anytime.
I moved into a position where my cleavage was showing more than ever. "It's really nice. You should get it." I sent him a friendly smile and looked back at the fine piece of jewelry.
