So, I'm getting ready to wrap up my life. Last year we were right by Texas and I got my GED, I began studying for online college. And you're probably wondering how I'm making money, well, I worked in Florida at a dock for a bit and would save the money, I went to New Orleans to work for a boat company and I always worse sunglasses because of my eyes. Name would teach our kids and would spend time with them. How I missed my family on certain days but I went to see them on my breaks and the weekends. I don't think Mr. and Mrs. ever reported me missing and I guess they just let me go thankfully. I was starting to become a lucky man. The kids could only come outside when it was storming and actually became nocturnal. I was sixteen at the time when I had $2,500 to my name, Dusty and I became close and actually became a family friend. I sat on our boat's ledge just facing the ocean, Huriccane Katrina hadn't hit yet as it was July of 2005, so I never had to worry about the weather for a long time. Name came up to me and I looked down at her and smiled "Wow. We actually got them to bed." She said in amazement as I laughed "I told you, give Daddy time to play with them and they'll be tuckered out." I said "Fighter is definitely our little fireball for sure." She said as she then stared at the city and sighed. "It's hard to believe what all we have accomplished in just a short time, now we almost have a three year old, two beautiful girls, and one on the way." She said with a smile, I looked down at her with an arched brow, my low ponytail moving with my head "Wait...what?" I asked as she giggled "Yes, I'm pregnant...again." She said as I smiled "That's awesome babe, what do you think it will be this time?" "As long as it ain't twins, I'm fine with it." She said and we both laughed. "Babe, I also have something else to tell you...maybe show you." She said in a more serious tone. I nodded and she showed me a newspaper clipping of a small infant on a dirt ground with a fishbowl to the right of it; I recognized the picture immediately "Yeah, Creek definitely looks just like me," I shifted slightly and set my left arm on Name's shoulder, "what about it, honey?" I asked as Name gave me this serious look "Well, that's the thing...I remember this night. Tommy, I don't know how to say this, but I remember now. People were experimenting with my egg in a lab, and I had never understood what they were doing. Then when I hatched I had met this tiny baby. And I watched this baby grow with me until..." She trailed off, I couldn't believe what I was hearing, I couldn't tell what she was trying to say, but just as I had opened my mouth she answered "Tommy, I remember being thrown and thinking I was dead. But I wasn't, I was in a sewer for at least a year then and I began to...evolve, I suppose. I eventually became this humanoid creature, it was very odd as I really had no memory. I just seen this picture and it brought everything back to me." She said as she held it close to her chest. I looked at her wide-eyed and extremely dumbfounded "So, are you saying that...you were RainDrop?" I asked as she hesitantly looked up into my eyes where I saw tears "Tommy...I don't know what to say, I...I might have been RainDrop, and why I turned into this I don't know. But I'm still Name, I'm still your wife. I just hope you know that I really had no memory of how I got here up until this point. And-" I kissed her cheek swiftly and I turned to face her to hold her hands in mine "Name, RainDrop, whatever it is or whatever you are, I still love you. I'm a bit confused right now, yes, but we'll get through it...I guess that does explain a lot though, and really, I guess RainDrop was a girl this whole time. Look, what I am trying to say is, even though I'm so confused right now, maybe this is going to bring our whole family closer, because it's just been you and me, baby. You and the kids are everything I need on this Earth." I said as she smiled and hugged me tightly, I hugged her back and tried to think about all of it. Her markings were very similar to RainDrop, she's not even human, she's always been fish-like, she lives in the water most of the time; I really was trying to figure it out. We released each other and she still had her worrisome look on her face. "Hey." I pulled her chin up to look into my red eyes. "It's okay, I promise...although, should I change your name?" I asked as we both giggled "Very good question, I like the name, it beats the one I've always known, no offense." She said with a laugh as I chuckled "What should we name the new addition?" I asked as Name, now RainDrop, shrugged "Hmm, for a girl, Raini. For a boy, hmm...how about Ocean?" She asked as I pondered on the name "Ocean, huh? It's growing on me, haha." I said as she smiled. Later that night I was playing a card game online with Dusty while we were emailing back and forth; I had told him we were expecting again and he was just as shocked as I was "Wow! Do you think they'll be twins or maybe triplets?" He asked as I typed on my computer "Haha, either way is fine. Although just one is enough LOL. How are things doing at the dock?" I asked as Storm came up to me "Daddy, can you tuck me in?" He asked whilst propping his chin on his palms "Sure thing, sport, but no staying up late." I said as he giggled and I picked him up, I took him to our mattress which had the girls and RainDrop all together as we didn't have enough room for other beds at the time. Storm laid down and I put the blanket over him "Aren't you coming to bed?" RainDrop asked as I shook my head "I will in a bit, I'm playing cards with Dusty and I'll be doing some school, I'll be to bed in a bit." I said with a smile as I turned around and walked back to my computer. As I walked back I noticed that it was beginning to rain, I watched it drizzle for a short second before I sat down "I'm back. I had to tuck Storm in. I do have a question to ask you if that is okay?" I sent the email and began to study, and after a while I got an email back "Sure. What's up?" It was Dusty. I got back on my computer and began to type "So, I know this is random. But why did you help us that day? Didn't you really know how old we were?" I sent it and quickly got a response "Well, I will just say this. I knew you kids were in some kind of trouble, I was just being nice and helping out. As I feel that is what I'm supposed to do. You have a beautiful family, Koi. You need to protect them at all costs." I smiled at the screen as I then looked outside to the weather; I thought about how blessed I was. My beautiful wife, my kids, another one on the way. I looked back to my screen and typed "I know I do. I worry about them every day. But we're almost to Alaska so I can figure out just where I came from. I'm about to go get some sleep, you have a blessed night, Dusty." I stood and headed to bed with my family. A few days had passed and we started to leave for Alaska, we had packed all of our things and we headed out. I had used a paper map and the kids had a blast. You're probably wondering how they got any education; we homeschooled to the best of our abilities; as I was the one who went to school. I took a test in Mexico and I got my driver's license, something felt off when I was there; everybody just watched me like I was a criminal. Many months later RainDrop had our son, who we did decide to name Ocean; Creek loved being with him and spending time with him the most, and Storm and Fighter were often in a fight. We eventually were starting to get close to Alaska and I had graduated with a Marine Biology diploma I did through online education whenever we had internet. The morning we had arrived to Alaska I had Ocean in my lap while watching the kids play around. RainDrop came up from the bed and smiled "I think we're almost there, aren't we?" She asked as I nodded "We will be shortly." I replied. Since this was back in February ice was slightly bad, so I would have to check the ship every now and again just to make sure we didn't get stuck. Creek looked at the city in awe as she turned back to look at me "Home!" She chirped, to which I smiled warmly at her "Yes, Creek, home." I replied. We got to the dock and I told my family to hide in the small basement and let me check around for any danger. I had handcrafted a spear from some driftwood and a shark tooth that I had sharpened and got onto the loading dock; it was around 3 in the morning and there was no sound. I walked up the steps into the main town where I heard some stray dogs barking "Fishin'?" I jumped and almost threw the spear to see an older man standing there lighting a cigarette, my breath hitched "Um...yeah, I guess you could say that." I said nervously as he nodded "Ehh, I usually walk out here at this time so I can't blame ya there. Just make sure you're not trespassing." He said as I smiled and nodded "Of course, no problem." I said with a smile as he nodded. "Do you know where the library is?" I asked, he blew smoke and looked at me "Well, that's a question I usually don't get asked. But," he pointed his right hand, "if you walk up that hill there it leads up to a small road and four blocks down is the library. Of course, they won't be open 'til 10. You a tourist?" He asked as I shook my head "I'm home." Was my only reply. The next morning I talked to RainDrop about us walking in town since it was pouring the rain outside and it didn't go too well. We had argued a bit before I finally convinced her that we were safe. I'm getting tired guys, I'll be back to bed soon. I'll see you guys later! This is TK logging off!
