August 13, 2006

I know, I know, it's been a hot minute. Let me explain...the trial came up right around Creek going missing, so I wasn't focused...I messed up...majorly! Lawson tried to help me the best she could; I was so nervous being at that stand. RainDrop...my poor wife; she's gotten bigger, and I could see how freaked out she was to be there. They put her to be tested in a lab; God only knows what they'll do once our baby is born, and as for me. I got two years...two years. How could they give me that? I sat in my cell just feeling so alone. How could I have done all this? I just wanted my life back. I was working on lifting some weights when I heard on the small TV outside let out the siren for an alert "Potential downpour with winds up to 65 mph, seek shelter immediately! This storm will also bring in severe snowfall of up to 6 ft. Be cautious of ice on the roads!!" The weatherman shouted on the screen. I smirked as I knew this was my chance, I went into my cell to calculate. With a storm coming we would all be okay to be out; if the electricity goes off I can exit my cell in the dark. I will have to break into the women's facility somehow and find out where RainDrop is. I've got a sneaking suspicion where the kids are, they are probably in a lab with RainDrop just in a secret room. I need to find out. I use my electric power again by absorbing the lightbulb's energy in my cell; it felt so weird, but it worked. "I can't fail at this." I thought to myself. All I have is this storm. I head outside an hour later and I see RainDrop outside; she looked so...big...and very uncomfortable "Hey, gorgeous." I said with a wink as she rolls her eyes and smiles "Amazing you can say that to me." She said as she waddled over to my side of the fence. I smile at her "Well, every time I see you, you become more beautiful. How's the baby?" I asked as she then sighed "Well, they're extra big. As they should considering there's more." She said with a wink. I laugh "You mean, twins?" I asked, she nodded and giggled "Yeah, didn't think it'd happen again. And they are ready to come out of there." She said smiling as I looked at her lovingly "Honey. We need to talk..." I said as she looked at me with concern. "We need to leave tonight. Let's bust out of this place, I can't live like this anymore." I whispered "Tommy, it's too risky. It's dang-" "Honey. I have powers, I have been training for so long. Plus, think about the kids, Baby. Creek has still not been found, and I need to find her myself." I said determinedly "Tommy, I love you, but we need to wait. Let's let the police handle this." She said reassuringly, I shook my head "I am getting us out of here tonight. And that's a promise, RainDrop. I won't let my family endure this anymore." I said, RainDrop sighed "Okay, when is the storm coming?" She asked as I smiled "It comes sometime tonight, I've been practicing. I've got it." I said as RainDrop smiled that smile "You better." We kissed through the fence; it felt as electric as it always did. "Hey, enough of that!" An officer snapped as RainDrop pulled away reluctantly "How I have missed those lips." She said as I smiled "Let's get our family back." I said. We parted our ways after that, and about an hour later I told an officer that I needed to see my children. I have missed them so much, I need to tell them what is going on. The officer was hesitant at first, but then let me go and set it up. As I got inside the visitor room I smiled very happily and sit down in the folding chair; I looked around the room to check for any cameras or that spaced glass. Eventually Lawson comes in bringing in Storm, Fighter, and Ocean; Storm smiled brightly and ran to me "Daddy!" He exclaimed "Hey buddy! I just wanted to see you guys!" I exclaimed happily as I hugged my boy tight. Lawson smiled "Alright. I'm glad you're doing well, Tommy. I was going to go check in on RainDrop." She said, setting Ocean down on the table in front of me "That would be great actually. Thank you. I've got the kids." I offered, hoping she'd leave. Lawson looked a bit hesitant but smiled that smile of hers "Okay, okay, just a Daddy wanting quality time." She said with a laugh as she then walked out. Once the door was shut I looked down at Storm "So, how is this home thing really going?" I asked as Storm then looked down "Well, it's alright. I do have fun with some other kids, and I love having Fighter and Ocean with me." He chirped, I leaned down to his cheek "But?" I asked, putting my left hand on his shoulder. My boy looked up at me "But...but I miss how things were, you and Mommy together with us. I miss Creek!" He cried, I hold him tight as Fighter comes over to us "Hug! Hug!" She chirped as I then grabbed Ocean, got on my haunches, put Ocean on my knees, and hugged Fighter and Storm "Guys, hey, it's gonna be alright. We'll get through this. This is why we need to talk. We're leaving tonight." I said, Fighter gave me a look "Daddy, how will you?" Storm asked as I sighed "That will be up to me, but kids, stay safe, stay in that building until I come get you." I ordered "Creek." Fighter said, I hugged her tightly "We'll find your sister soon, Baby. I promise." I said, I rubbed her back and Ocean began to coo under me, I looked at Storm again "Son, you've gotta protect your sister and brother for Daddy and Mommy. We will be by to pick you guys up. Don't tell anybody about tonight, okay?" I asked as Storm nodded "Okay, Daddy." He said. Lawson came in "It's time to go, kids. Hug your dad and let's get you back there." She said as I nodded "I love you all to death." I said, a smile pricking my lips as I handed Lawson Ocean and she walked Fighter and Storm. I ran my hands through my hair and that's when I got an idea. I headed to my cell and asked my cell neighbor if he had a razor I could borrow. I gripped the razor tightly in my left hand "Let's get out of here...once and for all." I thought, I placed the razor to my head and began shaving, my black hair fell to the floor at my feet as the sound of buzzing filled my ears. After an hour my head was shaved with maybe 2cm hair sticking out of my now bald scalp, then I lost it and shaved off my eyebrows...seems a bit much, yes, but I didn't want anybody to recognize me. "Koi." I jumped and turned to see an officer by the name of Kevin Lipschitz. "Wow, still haven't had enough of prison?" He laughed as I roll my eyes "What is it?" I asked irritably, he blinked "Well, we found footprints in the mud five miles from the lab out in the woods. They were small, so the lead scientist figures it might be your daughter." He said as I head to the bars "Seriously?" I asked almost desperate. Worrying about where my daughter is, she's barely a toddler! "Well, yeah, that's all we know though." Lipschitz said "So what are you saying? Are you guys still trying to find her or not?" I asked "Yeah, dude, chill. She's part human and fish, she's a scientific miracle, dude. Your whole family is." He said as I growl "Enough about my family! You guys will regret this!" I snapped "Chill out, we'll find your daughter. She can't have gotten far, she's a baby." He said with a laugh as I grip the bars "You need to bring some water in here. It's getting too dry." I said "After your little attitude, nah. We are doing everything we can. Your daughter is probably laying in a puddle somewhere." He said as he then walked away. I punched the bar and that's when I heard it...thunder...the storm is here. My anger surges through me like a bolt of lightning; I want to kill. I grip the bar tightly with my hands "C'mon, Tommy, just like you practiced." I thought to myself. My face strained and I began to feel my body shake lightly. The light above me began to flicker "Hey, what's going on?" A prisoner asked and others began to complain. I began to think about RainDrop, our children, Creek going missing, how my life was stripped from me; that's when I felt this power surge through me. It was a good pain. I screamed as the all the electricity began to black out, I can hear the electric surges and my hands let go of the two bars. They flew to the wall with a loud clang "Someone help!" A prisoner shouted as I took a deep breath. I can see perfectly well in the dark thankfully and I walk through the jail quietly "Where are you, RainDrop?" I whispered to myself as I snuck through the corridor; hearing prisoners' confused yells. Some officers come down the steps with flashlights and I hide behind a door "Everyone, relax, it's just the storm. Just simmer down!" A male officer yelled, I shoved through quickly and ran down the hall. I needed to find water quickly since I am starting to get used to my power. I headed to the library and tried to avoid people. I need to learn to control water from a fountain they had in there; I entered in and gritted my teeth; focusing on the water. "Come on!" I exclaimed "Hey, aren't you-" I hear a voice and right then the fountain blew from the wall. Water bursted out and I put my right hand down, and the water split around me and connected back. I could hear screams of terror...good. I then walked out of the library and ran down the hall. It was still storming and the wind actually broke some windows "Don't let him escape!!" I hear a man shouting but I just laughed. My plan was going great! I hid in the darkness from cops and that's when I heard it...the other cells were opening too; there were so many screams going on as everyone was confused about what was happening...but not me, not me. Stupid humans. I made my way to the front desk and I could see the front door "This was too easy." I said darkly "Hey fish man!!" I hear someone yell, I turned around and grabbed the tire iron that was aimed at my right temple "Hey now. You should be happy you got out." I said with a toothy grin "And here you are just leaving without me! And I almost drowned because of you!" He shouted. The guy was Thomas B Wholbrook; he was in for the murder of his family. He was a few cells down from me "I'm after my family to keep them safe. Unlike you." I seethed, he gulped nervously "Look, kid, I, I was drunk that night. I-I didn't know." He stammered and then shook his head. "Enough about that! You almost killed me!" "You should be thanking me, Thomas. You're out, aren't you?" I asked with a smirk "Yeah, and you tried to drown me doing it! You're gonna learn today!" He exclaimed "No, no, I think you will for murdering your family." I snapped, I pressed my hand to his chest; electricity surged through him and he screamed in pain. He then fell to the floor with his eyes open; blood coming from his eyes, ears, nose, and mouth. "So, Thomas, looks like you got death row, the electric chair." I said with a smile, I broke through the doors and ran down the hill. I have been studying where RainDrop could be, and I think I know what room she might be inside. I burst through the wall using the rain I have learned to bend "RainDrop! Darling, where are you?!" I shouted, I walked into the lab and saw computers, test tubes, and cages. What have they been doing to her? I turned the corner and I see lights flickering; they probably have a backup generator. "RainDrop, I'm here! Say something for me!" I called out, I entered rooms and could see no sign of her...until I saw an empty room with a table; the door had been creaked open. I opened it fully to see scratch marks with traces of blood on the door, and looking up I saw my beloved wife. She was in a fetal position on the table and cradling her stomach. I ran over to her "Baby. Baby, wake up. It's Tommy." I said to her; she wasn't waking up...or breathing. I could feel tears pooling in my eyes as I began to shake her. "RainDrop, what have they done to you?" I asked as I nuzzled her forehead and held her close. "Baby please." "Babies..." I could hear her voice; so faint and weak. I held her face with my hands "What?" "Babies...my babies..." She said slowly "RainDrop, what is it honey? What about them?" I asked, I could see dried blood from her thighs and on the table "They took my babies...abort..." She said and my eyes widened "No...no, they wouldn't, honey." I said as she shook her head "They were a boy and a girl, Tommy...they wanted them for research." She sobbed as I picked her up slowly "There will be Hell to pay!!" I shouted "Tommy, why are..." She trailed off, I began to cry "I broke out, Baby. We're breaking out of here." I said as I ran out of the room. RainDrop limply laid in my arms as I ran through the doors. "Daddy!" I could hear Storm's voice "Storm? Son, where are you?!" I shouted "Down here, Daddy!!" Storm shouted back, I ran down the stairs to a laboratory...they were in cages "Kids...why are you here?" I asked "Mommy!" Fighter chirped "Mommy is down right now, baby. I'll set her down, we have to get you guys out. We're going home." I told them, I set RainDrop in a chair and kissed her left cheek before turning and messing with Ocean's lock "They said we were getting checks, Daddy." Storm said "Yeah, I bet they were." I growled, I looked back and my eyes widen to see plastic wrapping on a small table "Tommy..." RainDrop paused "What, honey?" I asked "What is going on?" I heard Lawson's voice and I turned around to see her "Lawson. Were you in on this?!" I shouted, standing up and glaring at her "No, Tommy, no. I had no idea they were doing this." She said as she came over to RainDrop. "What happened, Tommy?" "They aborted our babies, Lawson. And put our children in cages, they're monsters." I seethed, Lawson shook her head "Tommy, honey, I am so sorry about this. They can't do non consensual aborti-" "Well, they did! And they did it for research!" I exclaimed, my voice echoing the halls. Lawson shook her head in disbelief. Right then, a gunshot went off and shot Lawson in her left shoulder before me. Lawson yelled out and fell "You!! Get back here now!" A man with blonde hair demanded, he was a scientist. He aimed the gun at me "Screw you! I am not going back! You killed my babies!" I exclaimed. RainDrop's eyes fluttered open "You took them...for research." She said weakly "Yes! This is a scientific miracle. You guys have to understand, we do mean well." He said "By ripping a family apart?!" I shouted "Daddy! I'm scared!" Storm whines "I doubt the cops know about this." RainDrop said as she weakly tried to stand up "The cops? The cops could care less about degenerates to society!" He exclaimed, I can see out of the corner of my eye RainDrop digging at Storm's cage "So this is what you do? These are children!" She exclaimed "Children of science!" He argued, I looked down to see that he is standing in water and I took my chance. I stuck my hands in the water "Well, now you're a man of dead." I said "Tommy!" RainDrop scolded but I didn't listen; probably what I did wrong. The scientist's body seizured painfully as he screamed out, I glared menacingly and I could see more people coming, but I did not stop. Electric bolts bursted through the water and attacked those worthless beings. I could hear RainDrop screaming my name but I just wanted these people to regret it. I'm not a bad guy, right? "Tommy, stop!! It's over!!" RainDrop shouted as she then shoved me lightly, I moved from the water and stood up "But they-" "They're dead, Tommy. We're free. Let's just go." She said through tears, I looked over to the plastic and walked over to it "We good?" Fighter asked as I opened her door and let her out "Yes honey, we good." I answered and kissed her head "Alright kids. Storm, take your brother and sister, Mommy and Daddy will be out in a sec. Just close your eyes through the entrance." RainDrop said as Storm playfully covered his eyes along with his siblings. RainDrop and I walked over to the plastic wraps to see the parts...the parts of our twins. "Rest in peace, little angels, I am so sorry." RainDrop sobbed and I held her "You guys were so loved, Sunshine and Moon." I said tearfully, we placed my left hand and her right hand on the wrap. I found a lighter and we burned it, we watched the flames and we wiped each other's tears "Let's go." RainDrop said as I nodded "Yeah. Let's go find Creek." I said as we walked out. We got caught up with the kids and we all left the building. RainDrop holding Ocean in her left arm, holding my left hand and in my right hand had Fighter's left hand and her other hand was holding Storm's...right when it was sunrise. And as I type this out at a bank, it was a beautiful sight, and new beginnings.
