A TRIP DOWNTOWN

"mama. mama! mommy! mama!" aurelia shouts as she cups el cheeks and shakes her.

el sighs out and moves her hand away, "let me sleep, sweetheart."

"but mommy, need pee and poo. grandpa gone." aurelia sits down on the bed with a bounce.

"okay, let's go toilet then." el sits up tiredly and picks her up, "what did you mean by grandpa gone? it's five in the morning." she glances at the clock quickly.

"note. door. no read." aurelia shrugs as el nods and leads her to the bathroom. she places the potty seat down and undressed her daughter before putting her on the seat.

closing her eyes and leaning by the door frame, el sighs and waits.

"no poi now." aurelia speaks up as el nods, "did you finish peeing then?"

"yes."

"okay, wipe your butt then." she murmurs as aurelia obeys.

el yawns and opens her eyes again as aurelia smiles at her, "done."

she nods and lifts aurelia from the toilet and dressed her again. then, she places the toilet lid down and flushes the toilet.

lifting aurelia up, she watches aurelia turn the tap on wash her hands with soap.

"back to bed now." el puts her down as aurelia runs back into the room, "cuddle."

el smirks tiredly and points to the bed, "hop on, babe."

aurelia cheers quietly and lays down on the pillow next to el's. el then lays down next to her and pulls her close, "night, mommy."

"night, sweetheart." el whispers into her head.

••

"no, i ordered a purple butterfly patterned dress. not a blue onesie with words saying 'daddy is the best' on it!" el screams into the phone.

she was on the phone with the clothing store. she ordered a dress for aurelia but it came wrong.

"ma'am, i understand, but-"

"but what!? my daughter is not wearing that! it doesn't even fit her!" she continues to shout at the man through the phone.

"i know we got the order wrong, ma'am but the one you ordered is sold out and the words 'daddy is the best' isn't the worst thing." he argues with her.

she scoffs, "well it is to me! so you either send me my shit back by the end of the mother fucking day or you give me my money back!"

"ma'am, i'm afraid we can't do that."

"and why is that!?"

"because your product is sold out." he remarks, "then i want my money back because i didn't spend $60 on a pretty dress just for this shit to arrive at my doorstep!"

"i can't do that either-"

"i swear to fucking god!" she groans, "you give me my money back or my shit or else i will get your ass fired for making my daughter cry over the damn words on the onesie!" she screams into the phone before hanging up and slamming her phone down.
