Title: Harvest Season (@EchoSagal )
Very Halloween of you.
Audience: Teen to Adult
Usually the midpoint for that is New Adult.
Genre: Fantasy, Scifi, Adventure
That's a lot. That's a lot of major genres and that probably won't do you any favours marketing-wise
Initial Thoughts: My head hurts. Not because of this story, it just does that sometimes.
Characters - The two main characters are Blakely and Abis and I love both of them but especially Abis. In my head I'm picturing him as Osamu Dazai but I've been picturing a lot of characters as Osamu Dazai lately so that's probably a me problem.
Anyways, the characterization is strong and I really enjoyed watching Blakely and Abis interact. I do wish there had been some more clarification on what Blakely's abilities were. I know I'm only three chapters in which leaves plenty of room for expansion, but while it was clear that Abis used spells, it was less clear that Blakely could too, which made the scene where he looked through the wall a little surprising. Not too surprising, but enough to make me wonder if I'd missed something earlier.
Syntax - Mwah, beautiful. Such description, such atmosphere, such pacing. And all without using eighty million words.
Technicality - There were some minor mistakes. Missed capitalization, a few questionable words here and there.
Formatting - Pretty basic, no mistakes.
Final thoughts:
9.5/10 I will read more of this and I will enjoy it.
