Chapter 6: The first day back

The train journey finished and everyone was walking to the great hall. Remus touched Lily's arm and signalled lily to walk aside to talk to him. "What's up" she said curious, "what was that about" he said moving his eyes at James. "What are you talking about" she said weirdly, "I'm talking about the train" he said. "You mean the deal" she said nodding finally getting it. "Yes, what are you think your doing" he said, "It can't hurt, his parents might be happy if he gets a higher score and if he does then I go out with him" she said explaining it, "yes but it might hurt him if he doesn't and besides what do you get out of it" he questioned, "it won't hurt, he hasn't asked me out yet and he might not the rest of the year besides he might actually do work" she said. "I know but-" he said, "but nothing it won't hurt besides it won't stop him from asking me out if he doesn't" she said comforting, "you really like him don't you" he said whispering, "no well maybe, I don't know" she said looking at the floor quietly. They finish talking and walk to the hall. "Hey where were you" said Peter, "Oh nowhere just had to talk in private" said lily giving Remus a death stare with a look saying don't you dare say anything. Everyone catches up from over the holidays, and James couldn't stop looking at Lily, they both couldn't stop smiling and Remus was watching lily with his eyebrows raised and head tilted, like oh come on. She looked at him with another death stare before they all went to bed.

"Hey lils, what happened on the train or at dinner" she said looking at her in the girls dormitory, "what" she said trying to act dumb, "with James" said Mary, "nothing happened" she said denying everything, "Do you like him" said Marlene, "I-" said lily, "he's kinda hot" said Alice. "Alice your dating frank" said lily shocked, "yes but you aren't" said Mary, "I guess he is kinda hot" said lily finally accepting it. "You like him" said Marlene, "I don't know" said lily shrugging. All the girls squealed then went to sleep.

The next morning, the girls are in the great hall talking about the guys when they, Remus, Peter and Sirius cake over to the table, "where's James" said Marlene, "he hardly slept, he's just getting ready" Sirius said looking at lily, "Why are you looking at me, wait-" lily said looking at Sirius, she looked at Remus, "you didn't" giving him a death stare, "I might of" he said loosening his tie, "it just slipped out, but James doesn't know" he said with a smile, lily did not look happy, "I don't see why we don't just tell him" said Peter teasing lily, lily gave him a disgusted look, "because" she said "if we tell him which we won't" looking wide eyes at everyone "he will never shut up about it besides I'm not even sure I like him". "You called him hot last night" said Marlene, head tilted, "Alice did, I was only agreeing because no one was going to shut up so I could go to sleep" said lily defensive. Everyone stopped talking when James showed up, "what's everyone talking about" she said, "Nothing!" said Peter fast, "what going on with him, what did I miss" said James confused, "couldn't tell you if I wanted to" said lily before anyone else could talk. Everyone went to different classes except James and lily who went to muggle studies.

James and lily sat on their seats next to each other and started taking notes. James was doing work for once, well sort of he was coping Lily's notes, she tried to move her book away and cover them with her arm but he moved her arm and moved her book back. "Why did you take muggle studies" said James curious, "your muggleborn what's the point". "It won't hurt and besides I find it funny to see things like keys in a wizards point of view" she replied almost laughing, "What's keys" he said, "Oh um the things that unlock stuff, so wingardium leviosa but in an object" she said explaining. They finished class and got on with the day.
