Chapter 12: the journey to hogwarts

"I'm sorry about my sister" Lily said guiltily whilst looking at the floor of the car. "Why on earth should you be sorry" Remus asked glancing at her then back at the road. "Yeah she's a bitch if anyone should be sorry it's her not you" Sirius aggressively said more aggressive then he meant "no offence" he added. "It's my fault she's a bitch in the first place" lily pointed out now looking out the window "if I had never gone to that school-", "then you would have never met us or any of your friends" James interrupted "now you can deny it all you want but it is not your fault, and I will not sit here and listen to you talk bad about yourself because of your sister or anyone else for that matter, you are beautiful, strong, powerful and the kindest person I have ever met and anyone who is ever mean to you are jealous pricks. Do you understand?"  The car was quiet for a while, lily nodded in response, James thought about what he had said, he had never spoken to Lily like that before, was she going to say something? Was anyone going to say something at all?

Ten minutes had past. "He's right you know" Remus said quietly "no one should make you feel inferior, you're beyond that." Lily still stayed quiet. James was still quiet. Sirius was snoring his head off because he fell asleep in a weird way. "We should be almost there" Remus mumbled and after a while they were. They got their things out the car and ran to the platform, of course Sirius who was still half asleep almost ran into the wrong wall and Lily stopped him just in time. They ran onto the platform and put their things on the train then met up with some friends. The guys met Peter who hitched a ride with Marlene and Mary who were at that moment catching up with lily at the same time as having lots of hugs. Marlene loved Lily and her parents but hated Petunia so she vowed to stay away from her and Remus was right down the street so he gave her a lift but when he woke up this morning he found James and Sirius downstairs like lily had just a little while ago but he was fine about it. But of course Peter, Mary and Marlene reminded Lily and James but mainly Lily that they were dating starting from today and James had not forgotten, lily needed a little reminder for she was still tired and processing what had already happened today.

It was 10:55 when they decided to get on the train, it reminded Lily that exactly a year ago she had done the same with Severus Snape whilst they were still friends but no longer. Lily instead got dragged on by Sirius Black who was muttering something only he could hear. They all sat in a different compartment as first years had taken the one they had the previous year which Lily was okay about but didn't let anyone know. The truth was she had never really thought about Snape since he called her a mudblood until today. They all sat down with still quite a bit of room. Lily by the window, Sirius opposite her, James by her, Remus by the door by James, Mary by Sirius and Marlene by her. There was still room on the chairs but Peter wanted to sit on the floor, he said that it was comfy and then the train was moving and one by one all the friends fell asleep.

Two hours passed and Peter woke up to the lady with the trolley shouting "trolley, anything for the trolley", he looked around and saw everyone was still asleep so he nudged Remus on the foot to wake him up. Remus woke up then nudged Mary who woke up Sirius and Marlene which just left James and lily. They did try to wake them up but they were such a deep sleep that they were dead to the world. Another hour passed and both of them had woken up. "Enjoy your nap?" Peter teased, "did you?" Lily answered still with her eyes closed and with a little haste "you were asleep first." "Oooh she got you there mate" Remus chimed in eating a chocolate frog. "Yeah she did" James added giving a little smile. Marlene was nodding off again and Lily let her put her feet on her lap so she dozed off whilst everyone else chatted.
